EPL is how it is marketed abroad so why would them referring to it that way upset you?

    Comedy genius!
should have a similar flag hung on west stand to compliment" in Bruce we trust" flag. In fact, f**k it, we should have all his quotes on banners around the ground!

It's still called the Barclays Premier League outside the UK.

It's not all that obvious. The bib one suggests the same, that it's more likely from our rivals.

It's probably just me, but they miss the mark for me.

"The Premier League is a corporation in which the 20 member clubs act as shareholders. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 38 matches each (playing each team in the league twice, home and away) totalling 380 matches in the season.[1]Most games are played in the afternoons of Saturdays and Sundays, the other games during weekday evenings. It is currently sponsored by Barclays Bank and thus officially known as the Barclays Premier League. Outside England, it is commonly referred to as the English Premier League (EPL)."

As a frequent visitor to Hong Kong, I can tell you that Star TV(who hold the Premier League rights for all of Asia) always call it the Barclays Premier League...

I believe Fox Sports just call it the 'Premier League', but it's still referred to as the Barclays Premier League in some places outside the UK.

It may be referred to as the BPL in some places. But in a lot of places it isn't. So you weren't correct.

One of the places it is referred to as EPL is Australia. Which makes my wondering why someone who lives in
Australia should get wound up by Ausdies referring to the EPL correct.

It seems that nobody has told Fox Sports Australia <laugh>

Fox Sports have secured a new Barclays Premier League broadcast deal, giving them exclusive broadcast rights to the competition in Australia until the end of the 2015/16 season.

In total, the agreement will allow Fox Sports to broadcast 380 games of live football from the Premier League over the next three years, which also gives Fox Sports subscribers the opportunity to watch every game live on the Fox Sports Barclays Premier League App for iPad and iPhone.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Fox Sports had retained exclusive rights to live coverage of the Hyundai A-League and the Socceroos internationals with Football Federation Australia after the latest rounds of television rights negotiations.

Fox Sports CEO Patrick Delany was delighted with the news, stating that it had been a massive week for football at Fox Sports.

“It’s been a huge week for football on Fox Sports, with the announcement of two major broadcast deals which are sure to have fans around the country buzzing with excitement at what the next four years holds for them,” he said.

“The Barclays Premier League is one of the most popular sporting competitions in the world and Fox Sports subscribers don’t miss a single game. Better still, they can take the games with them and watch any game live anywhere on their iPhone or iPad via the FOX SPORTS Barclays Premier League Live App and Foxtel Go.

“A Foxtel subscription opens up the world to football fans, headlined by every game of the Hyundai A-League, Barclays Premier League and Socceroos on Fox Sports, plus the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and Major League Soccer on ESPN, and The Africa Cup of Nations on Eurosport. The world’s best competitions are all in one place.”

The agreement means that by the end of the deal, Fox Sports will have been the home of the Barclays Premier League in Australia for almost 20 years having first screened the competition in 1997.

Anyone in Australia who wants to access Premier League matches or highlights on their phone or tablet has to do so on the 'Barclays Premier League App'.

That might explain why some refer to it as the Barclays Premier League, no? <doh>

Their CEO does, as does their app, now let's leave it there, before everyone else falls asleep reading this tedious petty nonsense.

Yeah, OK. Nobody told Fox Australia according to you. Yet there website has EPL on it. Rather than concede a point move the goalposts then call for any end to it.
You will be the ideal person to put up against AA in any discussions.
