There seems to be very little info on Hull Town, other than a brief mention in the FA Cup records, I can't find any info on where they played, when they were formed, how they(probably) became Hull City, or anything else about them. Apparently, the club lost many of it's records over the years and has little idea about it's own early history.

My husband, whose Grandad was at Hull City's first match in the football league,
told me that Albany Soccer Club was the club that entered the football league
    as Hull City.Is he wrong?

On several Hull KR sites, it states that in the 1896/97 season they got promoted to the First Division and pooled their resources with Albany Soccer Club(later to become Hull City AFC), it seems odd if we went from Hull Town, to Albany Soccer Club and then to Hull City.

Maybe we'll find out the full story once our new museum opens.
