Let's not forget that in the article it said Fergie was dicussing a new deal. He may well soon be on more.

Surely he has decreased the clubs value, by spending silly money on assets that are worth far less than was spent on them, as well as having a bad league position?

On a side note. How many people here would classify Wenger as a great manager? Has the 7 years of no trophies hurt his legacy? What would it take to make him a great?

Yes, but he wanted to be judged on the sponsorship deal, rather than their league position. Can't think why <whistle>

    And Evragate

Being known as a club of racists has surely hurt them even more.

    Very true.

The public support of Suarez was just plain stupid and made 'King Kenny and Liverpool a laughing stock.

Yeh but not every situation is the same as at your work.

A better analogy is that star city traders get paid ALOT more than the chief exec's at the same banks. It isnt all about job titles but more about how many people can do the job.

Take barca for example. There is only 1 messi but there must be a lot of managers who can perform at a similar level to guaridola.

Believe me, my manager could never do my job, hence why I always have to do his job as well...

But back to the point. At Arsenal, (& I know the ones who will disagree) my belief is that Wenger should be getting more than any other player up to this point. Maybe after this season VP should earn more, but with his prior injuries he shouldn't have in the past.

It is to the best of my knowledge only in relatively recent years that players have earnt more than their managers and only in a handful of cases.

And so it should be. A manager of a top club should earn more than the players - except when those players are exceptional and few fit that bill.

HAH - bet I surprised you with that Magic Man :)

I think Wenger is a great manager. Maybe not as great as he was 8 years ago, but still miles ahead of a vast majority of all the other managers throughout the world.

Let's not forget, that there were one or two on here that were saying that Wenger should be replaced with Allardyce, such was the depth of misplaced doom mongering.

That has to be a joke. I doubt anyone would honestly think Allardyce should take over......
