Watch the replay- Coquelin didn't touch the ball- went through Hoolahan.

As for the RVP penalty shout- yes clear shove by Naughton, but Gervinho was actually well offside which made Ruddy move towards him and not cover RVP. The fact that the linesman failed to flag the offside and then the linesman/ref failed to flag what would have been a penalty shows how bad they were.

Overall the ref had a shocker to both sides- Vermaelen shouldn't have got yellowed for example as he got the ball it was just a strong tackle. But overall it came down much harder on us- Benayoun could easily have been sent off and I still don't understand why Song wasn't yellowed for the push on Holt out of nowhere (it wasn't even Holt that tackled him!). Ramsay also should have got a second yellow- the commentators screamed about it- both his challenges weren't malicious, but they were late and dangerous and deserved yellows.

We should have gone in at half time 3-1 or so to the good with a man extra

    Agree with Jayram_Football.

Claims of faulty logic with no critical deconstruction tends to occur when one person really wants to get back at the other's argument, but doesn't have the ability or effort.

If the anger had been at the referee, perhaps that's understandable, but he started spitting **** at Lambert... In a sport where the referees make mistake week in week out, and in a game where the decisions have almost levelled themselves out, why carry yourself in such a manner?

Pressure of expectation is the answer. What was it they say about not being able to stand the heat?

Anyway, good luck at the Hawthorns, would prefer Arsenal in the Champions League to Spurs or Chelski (though obviously not the Toon).

Watched it again, and Coquelin got a touch and the commentator mentioned it. How many times do you see ref/linesman give a offside when somebody who is offside but gets in the way of play? Rarely. The Ramsey thing, is two fouls straight away two yellows and a red? If everything was done that way, then we would have a sending off in every game. Song was trying to get on with ball and Holt blocked him and would not move, so got pushed. The ref was indeed **** for both sides so I see no problem with Wenger getting angry over that. Both manager had a right to be angry with the ref. In this level of competition you should never expect a ref of such poor quality. He missed two of the most clear pens you will ever see (Kos shirt pulling) and (the shove on RVP).

Fair enough, that is not on and I hate when Wenger does that expect when it's Mark Hughes (an out and out ****). Going on the refs performance today, Wenger's reaction was understandable towards him and his assistant.

That was in the game yeah, but later they showed it slowed down and it was clear he didn't- also check the bbc live feed where they say the same. In all honesty it was a difficult one to give as the ball was touched by Hoolahan in the direction the tackle would ahve made it go, so the ref probably made a call on that.

You're talking about the first time Song pushed him- later on a Norwich player lost the ball and then tried to tackle Song, they both went over and Holt ran passed so Song ran after and pushed him! Obviously a bit of handbags and some history through the game, but pretty unnecessary and odd not to get carded.

But yeah, I agree on the two yellows and the ref probably felt Ramsay deserved one last chance as they weren't malicious. Your clear penalty was the handball actually- right in front of the linesman. I maintain the RVP one wasn't a pen because of the offside- so blatantly interfering with play from Gervinho it would have been a shocker. In real time I admit I thought it was a pen though and as you say the rules aren't always followed on the "interfering" thing.

But yes- atrocious reffing for both sides (not just these big incidents, but generally throughout) and this season as a whole. We thought the standard of ref would shoot up after promotion, but if anything it's worse. We got shafted at the start of the season and again more recently against Man U and against Tottenham at WHL, although that didn't affect the result

  6. Thats the norm on here unfortunately.

Regardless of what is said about the refs, Norwich deserved at least a point today and hiding behind refs whilst not facing up to our terrible collapse is part of the problem we have at our club.
