Correct. They investigate in order to obtain facts. The Sun or Daily Mirror do what you do, which is speculate and cast unfounded aspersions. So, no need for the facts then. 99.9% of planes land safely, so when one doesn't, it has to be the pilot's fault? Oh boy
So the alternative according to you Half Full is to assume that Wenger did no wrong and it was all beyond his control No facts, no investigation, just BS excuses I've never heard of a public enquiry into why a football manager ****ed up a transfer window and I'm not expecting it, so your comparison is rather pathetic. He made a pigs ear of the transfer window - end of story.
I blame you Jayram. If you had only stumped up the 40M, so we could have bought replacements for Nasri and Fabregas, before we had the cash for them, then we would have been fine. What a complete balls up you made of it.
So we had no cash, eh, until we sold Fabregas and Nasri....hmm. Where did you get your cash flow figure from in July to confirm we had nothing? I assume you must know something, otherwise it comes across as yet another excuse for the complete balls up Wenger made of the summer transfer window. I'll give you credit though, this excuse is the most way out there yet
There was £165Million cash in the bank as at 31 May 2011 according to the Arsenal Annual report and accounts 2011!!!!!!!!
No there wasn't. The same with there being no top players available to buy. I think someone forgot to mention this to Man U, who just bought a top player in Nicolas Gaitan.... Manchester United agree a deal to sign Benfica's Nicolas Gaitan for £20m http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-for-20m-plus-Fabio-and-Federico-Macheda.html
Indeed there was We may have spent some of it before the summer, but we clearly had plenty of cash to cover transfer in expenses prior to cash received from outgoings. The excuses to cover up a balls up by Wenger know no bounds.
It has several dimensions: Wenger buying players indicates his youth policy to fill the club and England is not working.... He is tight-fisted with an Economics degree, so thinks the money should be kept..... The Directors, Owners support action that keeps cash, increases share value etc. Wenger appears to be confused about who we need to fill problems, where to play the guys, and when to introduce them. He is prepared to operate on a small main squad, thus having a weak set to call upon. He spends on fees and wages increasing player count from about 58 to 71 in the last fiscal. He relies on the Emirates success to defer any criticism on lack of playing success. So what is the solution?
Anyone who thinks Mata isn't a quality player quite frankly deserves to be ridiculed. Of course he would improve us - playing on the left or right of the 3 up top, he rarely makes a bad pass and doesn't give the ball away. First season in England and being such a small player, he is doing excellently, well worth the money spent.
That just about sums it up really. It has been said that Arsene has to much influence on all that happens at the club and the lack of accountability, of shared decision-making or having decisions and policies questioned has hurt us on the field of play. One could even say that the drain on fees and wages to players we are unlikely to use is detrimental to the club off the field too. Not investing when one should is as harmful to the future of the club as in investing in the wrong direction. I believe the manager and board have become set in their ways. Perhaps their eye too is no longer on the prize and the prize has changed especially when the prize on the field has been out of reach. Thankfully though I think the focus is returning but for it to truly come back and stay for keeps, there are changes that need to be made. I used to subscribe to the idea of Arsene being Director of Football. If the post entails a say on who we buy, what we pay and that decision rests on one man then I say we do not need Arsene as Director of Football. David Dein's old job is safe for him if only we could have him back.
Don't say this to TT and to a couple of others on this board. I'm not sure it's a wind up or they genuinely believe that Mata is good but not particularly special. The man is world class and plays for one of the best ever international midfields in history.....
By the way Gaitan is an excellent player, and if this is true Utd just upgraded their midfield massively, and they have done it early.
Fire Wenger and hire Dalglish ? The guy can spend, does not give a s**t about youth policy, has no Economics ( or any other) degree. Owner do not support his actions, he does not rely on a new stadium and never appears to be confused ( well, almost). I think it is a perfect solution.
Dalglish is too racist for Le Arse who have lots of "blick" players Lazarus - don't worry about TT - to say he has a clue is a massive overstatement !!
Mata played the same position as Rooney this week-end. I wouldn't even describe him as a midfielder. Not sure you have the knowledge to ridicule anyone.
I don't need to ridicule you, you do a fantastic job yourself. So you think Mata is a striker then? Seriously? Just because Chelsea stick him up front does not mean he becomes an automatic striker. Remember when Wenger stuck Bendnter on the left and right wing? We all know he's no winger don't we? He started off as an attacking midfielder who can also play as a creative midfielder, and is used in that way. He is also used as an attacking/creative midfielder in the great Spainish side. So you think you know better than the Spanish TT?
