This thread just shows how pissed off Utd fans are at there own terrible show in the transfer window. Ozil is World Class, the best nunmber 10 in the world and would improve literally any team worldwide. Signing of the summer easily, yet you use it as a way to try and bash Wenger? Pathetic. If you knew anything about this current Arsenal squad, how we are set up and the sort of games we failed in last season you would be able to see what a masterstroke Ozil is. As for comparing the signing to Bergkamp - people where not comparing the two players, but saying that this is the first time since Bergkamp that we have signed a player who is already World Class as opposed to players with the potential to be. (In that same thread a couple of other names where raised as potentially WC when we signed them though). Reading and comprehension is obviously not your strong point up north. I do however agree that we needed to bring in another striker. Giroud is great as a CF and will get plenty of goals being fed by Ozil/Cazorla/Wilshere/Walcott,but if he gets injured we only have Walcott or Sanogo to slot in currently while Podolski is out injured. I think the loan move for Ba showed unless we can get a WC striker (e.g. Suarez) we where happy to get a short term fix and look for a striker again in January. And i do think we will be back in the market for a striker in January.
Having missed out on Suarez Wenger had 2 months to sort out another striker to come in, as it's obvious to a blind man, that's the area that you are weakest in both quality & depth. Yet he leaves it to the last day to try & get Ba on loan? As much as I think Ozil is a master stroke, the failure to secure another striker is a boat load of fail & one that will come back & bite you on the arse imo.
Considering Walcott can play through the middle and in 10 weeks we will have Podolski back i don't think it's the end of the world. All Arsenal fans wanted another striker option but Giroud is on form and more used to the league and we have other players who can play in that position. Hopefully what we have at the moment will be fine until January when we canbring in a new striker.

Walcott is never a central striker, he's not got the strength to play as a lone striker in your formation. Podolski being out for 2 months (& he's not really a central striker either) should have added some real urgency to Wengers pursuit of a new forward. As it is he's left you massively exposed & there's no way you should be looking to January the day after the window's just shut!
Walcott got 4 goals in 4 games as a central striker last season. He doesn't have the strength to play as the same type of CF as Giroud, but can do a job there for a short period of time. As i have said i expect us to move for a striker in the January window
French Arse will still finish the season without silverware, they are still 2-3 players short of making any challenge to the big 2 + Chav FC

Lol such a wum comment about bendtner - you'll have to try harder than that I think most Arsenal fans agree we would have liked to bring in a striker, but considering our other signings i think it's bit silly to focus purely on the one area we didn't strengthen. January is only a fewm onths away and i think the current squad are capable of keeping us in a good position until then
