I just feel for people who have booked memberships and season tickets. At this rate they won’t see a game there until August 2019.

On the plus side, once the fines have been paid, that's a bunch more pay hikes we can take care of...

There are a bunch of severe penalty clauses in the contracts for the stadium, apparently.
Doesn't help the fans though, of course.

We've had to rent Wembley and probably incurred a bunch of other costs also (eg, tickets/admin etc) so i doubt we'll see any benefit from fines, if there even are any

Fully with you on that. But I ust imagine being in Daniel Levy’s shoes...

Your contractors set out a timeline and promise delivery by such date. You put plans into place, sell tickets and plan fixtures and events.

The contractors then overrun big time and you have to come up with a quick solution to:

    A) get plans/resources in place to finish the stadium as fast as possible
    B) make alternative arrangements for already set fixtures, sold tickets and tv rights
    C) find the extra capital to pay for all of the above
    D) call your lawyers and prepare a lawsuit against the contractors to get compensation

No wonder he has no hair!

He should've made it clear that this was a possibility, instead of ****ing about so much.
If the club had kept a consistent and honest position, then the fans would've been far more accepting of any problems.
Pretending that it was all going to be ready and then slowly walking it back in stages was very stupid.

Well let’s be honest, Daniel Levy has had a history of being a tad disingenuous (BMJ saga anyone?)

Explaining why the Stadium naming rights are being held back until the official opening no bad publicity for Nike

Yeah, I suggested this a while ago.
The funny looking A makes it pretty clear it's them, but they don't want to be associated with this sort of **** up.
I wouldn't be surprised if they try to pull out or delay the deal until next year.

The official name was announced as The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which we need for use in Europe.
You can't have sponsorship names, so the likes of City and Bayern have something similar.
The A was stylised in a very specific way though, which matches a design which Nike have used for other grounds.

Nothing official, but it's quite a coincidence if it's not Nike.

Doesn't sound like it has overrun, the statement from the club said the first test events had shown safety issues. To me that sounds like design/material problems unless it means walkways and stairs etc are not completed sufficiently enough to be used.

Doing the whole ST/\DIUM announcement was stupid knowing this was on the cards. They MUST have known it was. That should have been delayed also

One of the cameras seems to show staircases unfinished, so i wouldn't be surprised if that is at least some part of it. If it is though, surely you must have known it was gonna fail

Safety can cover a multitude of issues. Electrical, fire alarms/sprinkler systems, gas, heating, HVAC, exits/doorways/access. We can speculate for hours. Fact is, it’s bad enough to push matters back another month. So I safely predict the new year will be our target now. It’s clearly a mess

The other people to feel sorry for is vendors in the Tottenham area. They've already had to endure a year without the increased bi-weekly revenue due to fans and now they've gotta keep doing it for who knows how much longer.
