I think they will go for 92 too but as it also the fa cup final Wembley appearance.

they also have the playoffs 1990 and the mercantile tournament in 87 which I doubt will get a mention!

This is brilliant, proud as always of our support.

This also got me wondering if Tranmere were doing anything like this. It seems they also have a virtual Wembley ticket fundraiser on the go.

Had a quick look , it's at about 17k at the moment and the odd SAFC fan has donated.

Would be a class act if after we have donated to our own and if anyone has any spare cash in these horrible times, that we can give their cause a helping hand.

Just a thought, and if no one decides to do this, am still so proud of us for what we've done for our own though the virtual ticket scheme.

    Link below, if it works.

I think that’s a great effort by Tranmere, given the size and club and fan base around 20% of ours is about right.

Good little club Tranmere, will never forget the great away day down there when we went up under Reid, the whole place was mobbed with Sunderland.

We managed to get 12 cans of Skol in <laugh>

Well done Lee Johnson, 100 smackers.

I wonder if some of the £50 anonymous donations are from players.

If I'm thinking about the same match it was Grand National weekend and the match was played on the Friday night, I was on the club's supporters coach and the driver got lost and we turned up late and were refused entry as the away end was full, we were two goals up in the first 15 minutes iirc and you could literally see that big away stand flexing as the supporters were celebrating, never been so sick in all my life, we ended up watching it on a tv monitor under the main stand as it was being shown live.

My other abiding memory there was when we played the FA Cup tie and lost, they had a player sent off and used a sub which the Ref counted as the man sent off so they played on with eleven men until Reidy noticed and told the officials.
We complained to the FA afterwards but got nowhere which was the norm whenever we asked the FA for help.

Naa we lost the game 1-0, always remember they scored a pen (****ing Liam O’Brien...) just as United scored at Boro to guarantee the Toon had blown the league.

In essence, was like we celebrated Tranmere goal <laugh>
