Nah. I was in amongst the crowd at the bar and tables for about 45 mins then my brother developed some hungover claustrophobia.

Moved to the opposite side and watched from a distance.

Just back into the country but this picture is for Kyril , albeit a little late....

this is what I would have posted a week last Friday pre match.

"By the end of tomorrow Kyril, you will know what this club is all about"

Oh , leaving Roker Park , bus back, straight to newsagents to wait for the van to drop the pile of pinks off - mad dash to buy the first one so you were first to see the other results. Happy days , proper football days , bugger the internet and instant information!!

Lots of areas of the country had them I think. 'the pink' was just what the local rags dedicated sports paper was called. Footy echo was class with all the Sunday league photos and match reports.

My memory is vague these days, but wasn’t the Sunderland Saturday night football paper always pink, until we were relegated in 1959 (?) and the publishers vowed it would be white until we got back into the (then) first division, when it returned to being pink?

I'm sure (I'm probably wrong) but you could grab a copy of the pink (it was pink in the 80s) whilst waiting for the bus home after a Roker Park home game.
