Just announced city are after others- please log in to view this image Bristol City remain in the market for forward additions this window though it is a difficult window to recruit in, with wages falling and little money for spending across the EFL. City, as manager Nigel Pearson has explained previously, are only looking to bring in real quality and someone better than what they already have at the Robins High Performance Centre. That makes the odds of bringing in further additions harder than in recent years and more unlikely than likely. But City continue to work hard and are hopeful that a late opportunity may come up that sees them bring in the fifth window recruit that Pearson asked for at the beginning of the summer. Meanwhile, Bristol Live has learned that Rotherham United striker Michael Smith is no longer a transfer target for the Robins. Smith, who has also been tracked by Warnock and Middlesbrough too, is available for the right money this window, and was heavily considered by City earlier in the summer as the club looked for a striker to replace the departing Famara Diedhiou. Millers boss Paul Warne has spoken about Championship interest in the forward this window but the Robins have ultimately decided against bringing in the 29-year-old, preferring other transfer targets they deem to have a higher ceiling. Smith, who has started the season well in League One, including scoring a blockbuster winner against Morecambe recently, could still be bought by a Championship club this window though his price tag is believed to have gone up due to the end of the window approaching and how little time the Millers would have to source a replacement. And while there was speculation at the weekend that Nahki Wells could depart Ashton Gate, Bristol Live understands that is unlikely, that the player has not been put up for sale and that Wells is determined to play his way into the Bristol City side and show his best form in BS3. Every player has a price however but a late window transfer is not currently on the horizon. Meanwhile, City defender Taylor Moore has been reported as available for loan, with Portsmouth, Wigan and Hearts all credited with following the 24-year-old centre-back. Bristol Live understands that Portsmouth do not hold an interest in the player (via our sister site Hampshire Live) and that the Scottish SPFL side are currently winning the race for Moore's signature. Moore has made just one appearance this season, in the loss on penalties to Forest Green Rovers as he was given a tough evening by Green striker Jamille Matt and Bristol City have a decision to make on the defender's future. Indeed, Jambos forward Armand Gnanduillet may have hinted at Moore heading to Tynecastle, with his Instagram story on Wednesday mentioning Moore heading "au nord".
Not necessarily, he’s not asking for transfer windows more to train and nature the team into a competitive team. We’ve got some good youngsters coming through that will need time before they are fully ready. NP did not mention anything with transfer windows just time. LJ mentioned transfer windows because he wanted to buy our way there. The sad fact is he probably had 8 so his 3 was a false claim.
3 seasons to be ready to challenge for promotion!! Are you f**king kidding me, that's essentially as long as, or longer than LJ had to achieve a play-off place. I bet NP doesn't get the same barrage of criticism from the haters if he takes that long, or longer!
But we can already see what he is creating-signings are good-majority can see progress even over a short period off time.
You said that last year when we won our first 4 games under DH, then look what happened. We have improved up front for sure, our chance creation is higher, get the conversion rate up and we will be fine this season. Young players always look good at the start of the season, I am concerned how many we may have to rely on if injuries strike. I have always been a big fan of us promoting as many young players from the academy into the team as possible, as a selling club, it's our lifeblood, as seen with Reid, Kelly Bryan. If they are Bristol boys through and through, then even better!
Yes, but we are in a much worse position than we were when LJ took over. NP is also unlikely to get the financial back LJ had , it’s a completely different situation now.
The hypocrisy is mind blowing. 2/3 posters especially are always claiming that other people on here bring up LJ, telling us that he has been gone over a year, when 90% of the time it's them banging on about him. The annual meeting of the LJ glee club will be held in a telephone box near you. Here is the sexiest photo I can find of him, have one last rattlesnake shake and let him go.
Mainly because the owner & manager were at loggerheads, SC left the basis of a good squad, (see how well many of the players subsequently did). Fast forward NP has let 13 or thereabouts go, has only been allowed to buy 1 player and bring in a couple of freebies, as well as change many of the back room staff. He’s also had to cut the wage bill by a massive %. If we’d gone for an experienced manager when LJ was appointed imagine where we’d be now. Surely you can see a huge difference between the two edit As well as inheriting a decent squad there was a decent amount of cash to add to it.
The specimen, that is, to date, the most successful manager City's had in 40 years...Thanks for that Jiffie, nearly forgot what he looked like!
Sadly for you as you have just proved yet again, 1 rattlesnake shake will never be enough, "it must be love, love, love". True love no ****.
