Yep, HT for Pigott and Yann got one too. 4-0 at half time and a completely different team for the second half.
Finished 5-0 with the last from a Green penalty. Woody Dick on trial was the only new face. Wagstaff did not feature and nor did Wiggins. I hope there is nothing significant about this latter. Pigott was on fire for the final months last year. Looks like he is carrying on the same way. Let's hope we have found a striker as they "cost a fortune". When I first became aware we had some great youngsters it was Azeez and Sho-Silva getting all the attention as strikers. Pigott has steadily come from nowhere. Interesting to see if Green, Evina, Cook, Wagstaff and Stephens make the trip to Spain or stay in the UK trying to fix up with new clubs. If Wiggins doesn't travel I will worry, though there could be a dozen other reasons for his non-appearance today.
Wiggins still recovering from being crocked in the Bristle game according to the AllHell News Agency. Finishing masterclass from Pigott in the first half, with superb build-up play from Kermorgant especially. Disjointed second half with Welling pressing strongly and Michael Smith stuck up front on his own for some reason and well shackled by an excellent CB. Nightmarish parking and the service in the Guy was a disgrace - I left the bar after 25 minutes of not being served. Shockin', juss shockin'.
Is Waggy still with us seeing that he's out of contract? or is he hanging on hoping for a new one or until someone else grabs him?
Hamer didn't feature either despite his twitter account saying about the game, strange. Not sure whats going on with Evina, he is out of contract but still featuring so maybe he will resign, I am fairly certain Waggy has left the club completely and is no longer training with us.
Waggy has left the club, he is training with Bradford. I was surprised to see Evina play, perhaps he is going to sign the one year contract that is on the table.
FRom the wrong end of the ground it looked to me as though Pigott was fouled before his second two goals, and could have gone down looking for a penalty. All that was on his mind though was getting the ball in the net, reminded me a bit of Killer in that respect. Anybody know why Hughes and Kermit had the right shorts but the wrong shirts? My suspicions fall on Hughes nicking Kermit's shirt. Apologies if I'm wrong.
Plus why did Dutch's shirt have nothing on the back of it? Have we sold off his old kit? Why were we playing in last season's kit?
OK, my thanks to you and other posters for clarifying a few issues. I can see why the club would be keen for Evina to stay on if Wiggins is still suffering from knock received two months ago. Not sure what is in it for Evina though. Surely he is good enough to get fixed up elsewhere?
Eddie, he is under 24 and we have offered him a contract so we will get a development fee from any new club. He knows that any club willing to pay a fee for him will be expecting him to be fit so I guess he is doing pre-season training with us.
In addition, the way Fox played in the first half, I'd say he was more than adequate cover for Wiggins. The same goes for Pope and Button - IMO, both of them could walk into the first team at any time were The Hammer to be indisposed/disposed of. Forgot to mention Andy Hughes in my first post - excellent half, competitive and with pinpoint distribution.
I hope everyone enjoyed it at Welling. How did Piggott look apart from the goals (silly question I'm sure)? Good to hear Fox impressed too, and Evina might stay on. I spent my afternoon getting sunburnt down the beach and then at Montrose v Inverurie Loco Works. If any Charlton scouts were considering going to that match, my suggestion is that they were better off not going. Nice sunny day though
Interesting. I didn't know clubs could get development fees for players they hadn't developed as juniors. He may well be a better player than when he was at Oldham, but being two years older, he should automatically be that on physical grounds. Any judgment would be purely subjective, as there is nothing in his stats to prove we have "developed" him. Does "developed him" just mean "have employed him"? In that case, would I be correct in saying that it is just the old transfer system still applying if the player is under 24? If not, what is the difference? I have tried to look it up on net but failed. (Got side-tracked into an interesting article on basketball in Uzbekistan. Sometimes I think I will Google my life away). Also, can anyone point me to a simple explanation of the new Fair Play rules? Someone recently suggested on here that a sugar daddy would be of limited benefit to Charlton because of the new rules. He might well be right, but I wonder how that could be since we have spent f/all over past seasons compared with some other Championship clubs.

Hamer just tweeted that he is off to spain today....... so no reason to worry about him, he just went to see Mumford & Sons yesterday evening .
i cant stand them either. game was good yesterday. i was worried we'd struggle up front, but seem calmed now by piggotts display. looked really good
Interesting comments from Powell after the Welling game, is he being backed in the transfer market? www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/football/charlton/10531564._/
CP is reported as saying: âI lost four strikers - three permanent and one on loan and we cannot go into the season with only one recognised striker at Championship level." We lost Haynes, Fuller and BWP (I guess Derry doesn't count) but this implies a striker still on our staff has gone out on loan. Who would that be?
