In fairness to Wellens he is the only player we have who can unlock a defence with a pass Thats why Nigel brought in Drinkwater, to give us more options, not to replace Wellens
I have not been Wellens biggest fan this season but with our squad shrinking by the day I'm wondering if this really would materialise, unless NP has another ace up his sleeve
He's scum. Also I don't think we need a 31-year-old Neil Kilkenny who can tackle a bit. We already have defensive midfielders; we need a centre-back, a right-back and a striker. We already have a playmaker in Adam Clayton who I think it doing well, but still needs to be getting forward in a 4-2-3-1 formation in order to get the best out of him. We could go for Wellens, I just don't see the point now we have Delph. Centre mid isn't where I see our main weakness.
You do realise you only have Delph for a months loan? Also you realise that Wellens is an attacking playmaker, he's not a defensive player. He's a **** Paul Scholes, he can't tackle to save his life.
Yes, but by all accounts we're going to extend the one-monther till the end of the season. And I brought up DMs not in reference to Wellens (hence why I compared him to Kilkenny who also can't/won't tackle) but to make the point that we already have a good range of midfield qualities. My overall point being that we have weaker areas of the team which need strengthening first, and as a matter of priority.
Lonergan's made 2 mistakes all season. Schmeichel's made at least 4 that I've seen. Only difference is both of Lonergan's were punished.
Erm, shows I know what I've seen? Kasper made 2 of those mistakes in the Portsmouth game alone. We've seen both players regularly, you've only seen one, who seems in the best position to judge there?
The one where Lonergan was unsighted and went mental at the defence? **** happens in set pieces. Not really his fault.
The kind of thing you rip Kasper for? The ball went straight underneath him, nobody was in his way. He was moaning at the defence for not closing him down (he was in acres of space in the area).
Schmeichel 4 mistakes ? Sorry mate i have only seen 1 and it led to Burnleys goal but he has more then redeemed himself
See, this is the thing. I went to the game. What did Kasper do wrong? I'm pretty sure he flapped at a cross that he was fouled for. If you count that as a mistake then i'm not sure what isn't.
