Some good points Sir Keefy and in general i would agree. Personally i would not stop watching my team unless finances or time were not available to me. I think EagerExile has been a little unfair on throwoff at #4...and i really don't want this thread turning into arguments between members...so i hasten to add that i'm sure with throwoff having a little girl my aforementioned words in this post might apply...finances and time.
In truth the thing that gets inside me and this is not a Scally Out comment or even i prefer PT more than MA or visa versa...it just rubs me up the wrong way when I see not for the first time now, comments about the supporters from within the club. Ok, let me start by saying the vocal support on Saturday was rubbish to say the least, as i said in another thread, 2,800 out numbered in voice by 200. BUT that's the same where ever you go away these days. The problem...STERILE environments, you all know i am a great campaigner against them. Yes, at my age i need my seat to a certain degree but many young men could raise their voice if they could sit where they wanted and stand where they wanted...maybe i'm wrong.
However, the biggest problem here is the one way communication, it's ok to tell the supporters what we are doing wrong or not doing, or maybe just asking us to raise our voice...fair enough. But what about listening to us? This ST fiasco is still grating on me, the preseason communication letter, the herding at turnstile to be later apologised for, the constant battle between supporters and Lindley's re catering and then the latest of no minute's silence for Remembrance. Yes, some of these things have been since communicated or maybe even put right...but list this has a whole in just one season that's not even at the half way mark beggers belief.
I'l still be there on Saturday at Sheffield United, I will not boo my team but hey please don't take me for a mug GFC. Have some respect.
