http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21350382 Cloud cuckoo land is getting awfully crowded! This may prove interesting; I think it covers several strands but all linked to our beloved game!
a very interesting read, but these plans should have been submitted two decades ago, but if you wait for government intervention, that would probably be another couple of decades...supporters should act now. and we are at a very good stage to submit a proposal to Rowland before he retires of purchasing the club off him through a supporters trust...if he loves the club that much, and i think he does, there is no reason why he wouldn't at least look into the possibility of a fan based take over. and as it say's .."There is an incredible feeling from supporters - they care about the clubs and their interest in the long-term health of football clubs is like no other," said Lampitt. "That umbilical link has to be recognised in the way supporters are represented as stakeholders and in the way the game is governed. We would like to see that change sooner rather than later."
For the benefit of anyone. I assume TH is already a member:- http://www.shrewstrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=47&Itemid=49
Well yes KDS i have been for some time, but i don't think they go far enough, their belief is that we are a secure club, and perhaps we are at the moment, but like Chester, Wrexham and other clubs, that can change over night, unfortunately with the trust they have got more of a social thing going rather than a proactive one and are sitting a little bit on their laurels, don't get me wrong they do good things in the football community, raise a lot of money and do help other clubs who are in trouble and also gave a lot of support to our near neighbours when they were in difficulty. but Im afraid it will be like Pearl harbor with the trust, when it all goes pear shaped, they just wont be ready enough to react!!...
