Arsene Wengers spy tower.

Not.. NOT.. The Tower of Arsene..!?!

Les Reed will have to take JWP back into Portsmouth to search out his old home where he can cast his original Pompey socks into the washing machine and so make the Tower of Arsene crumble into ashes and dust.

I'm sure there will be death defying adventures along the way, like finding the soap powder.

Now read on...

This is a lookout Tower as all towers are designed for. In this case, it is so those poor bewildered skates can climb to the top where this is a large sign with a big red arrow on it pointing West. Underneath the arrow are the words, "Is this the way to Amarillo?"

On a side note...I like this tower. You can see it from the Island...more attractive than Fawley :)

On a side note, I also like the Spinnaker Tower. Portsmouth CC thoroughly outmanoeuvred Southampton CC with their skyline, which looks [approaching from the sea] in turn, both historic, modern and impressive. I can tell you that, in comparison, seeing Fawley power station and refinery pass by on the port side, and then watching the silos come into view, is no introduction to the premier city of the South, in my opinion.

On a side note....I actually like the colours............ Pompey should be proud to have their neighbours football colours on such a large monument!!

Yes, the first time I saw the Spinnaker Tower was from the sea front at Ryde. I had no idea what it was at the time but it did look impressive even from that distance. And I have to agree that going into Portsmouth on a cross channel ferry is quite a grand thing these days.
