There's a long way to go as yet WH, we've got Man City (a) next and then Newcastle (h). The table could look very different in a couple of weeks time. But, hey, that's me the eternal optimist !! ........<doh>
 
we've made a good start but that is all we've done. if we sit in 10th position, 7 points above the drop zone in may, then you can pat us on the back. hell, if we sit 17th, 0 points above the drop zone but one goal better than 18th we'll all be delighted! long way to go as yet... <ok>

Spot on Superman. If anybody thinks it will be easy then they had better look at our run-in!!
 
thats true! i think with wigan and blackburn struggling so much and bolton unable to win home matches, 36-37 points may well be enough for survival this term. we currently have 16 points from 13 games so a long way to go as yet but if we can get at least one more win before christmas i'd say we are basically half way to survival with the 2nd round of matches to come. our away games are easier than our home games in the new year so we need to be picking up more points on the road if possible. if we can double our points haul in the next 13 games to get to 32 points after 26 games we will definitely be set up nicely! even if we go into the last 8 games with 32+ points i think we'll be ok
 
I think we must be looking for minimum 6 points from the next 6 until the cup starts. Fulham at home should be our banker to aim at.
We must be able to draw or beat one of the big boys at home and Newcastle could just be the one. Points at Everton and Wolves would do just nicely. 24 points at the halfway stage would be brilliant.
We must aim not to drop 3 points to any of the teams near the bottom. We have a gap on them and if we do no worse than draw then I don't envisage them gaining on us.
 
fulham are very difficult to beat though, very organised. i wouldn't be at all surprised to see that end in a draw, but it is winnable. i think newcastle at home is winnable - they too are organised but they are bound to have a sticky patch at some point and we often turn them over at carrow road. wolves is the biggest game of the lot coming up. we MUST NOT get beaten there. a point would be ok but a win would really leave them in trouble. make a good start at molineux, get a goal up and their fans will turn on them. agree everton away is a good chance of points too. to be honest, apart from tottenham and man city at the moment, i give ourselves a good chance against just about anyone if we play to the best of our ability.
 
Isn't it lovely discussing whether we can get a point out of Newcastle and how we must get a point out of Wolves etc etc. Only a couple of years ago we were wondering whether we could beat Yeovil and Exeter!! No matter what happens this season or where we end up we must never forget where we were when PL and MacNally arrived at this club.

Newcastle and Fulham are winable, so is Wolves. If we lose at Wolves i don't agree it's a disaster, but it would be dissapointing. if when then lost another game away at someone in the bottom six then it would be worrying.
Man City i think everyone is expecting nothing from.
Spurs, we have a chance of getting something out of the game if we play to our full potential.
Everton is possible to get something as well.
6 points from those six is a reasonable target which would take us to 22 from 19 games.
 
I agree with most of the above. I think 7 points from the next 6 games will set us up nicely for the new year. I do not think any of us here are under any illusion of how hard the task ahead still is but I think PL and the team have exceeded all expectations so far
I think Saturday will be a very hard task but I just hope we show plenty of spirit (it's on Fox Sports here, live)
At this time the bottom 3 are not showing any signs of improvement, lets hope it continues.................OTBC
