As I said you know very little about football; Martin O'Neill is a very good manager both tactical and inspirational, did you think we should have just rolled over and allowed Man City a stroll in the park? Mancini has put together a team of brilliant players but as anyone who knows about football must realise, there is more to the game than expansive flowing football with Hollywood passes and flicks. There are two teams on the park both with their own particular strengths and weaknesses. No we did not park the bus; we were controlled and disciplined and we hit them on the break, tactically astute against an exceptional Man City team. Yes we played out of our skin considering we were seriously depleted through illness and injury (Seb Larsson has been laid up all week and only got out of his sick bed yesterday) I think that is commendable and object to armchair critics who see football through the camera lens and consider themselves experts spouting rubbish such as you do.
look at the top of the page, it says comment, debate, create, freely, this isnt north korea, i can pass comments on other teams this is a football forum you berk
I hope Man City fans are not going the way of their arrogant neighbours: ie. considering any defeat as a violation of the laws of nature. There was some prat on the 606 phone-in last night going ballistic and accusing Sunderland of 'trying to kick City off the pitch' and 'parking the bus'. Mind you, he was put firmly in his place by other callers, including a Newcastle fan. What do these people seriously expect? Go out on all-out attack against a team that cost the equivalent of a small country's annual budget?
I was listening to the show with Lilly Savage on going on about how we were a disgrace and the Citeh fan didn't know how we were delighted to watch us defend for 90 mins. He missed the point that we had the 3 best chances in the game and scored, something their "fantastic attacking" couldn't muster up. He even had the nerve to argue with Savage for 10 mins only to then agree with him. Doesn't beat the Blackburn fan who rang up after to say he was one of the one's protesting against Kean 2 weeks ago, now he reckons Kean will win them the Premier League in 10 years time: 1980_boogie_down:
please log in to view this image ... btw, it was offside, but did we deserve to win? -did we really deserve to win? -well, we kind of stole/raided it, it was ****ing great! But did we deserve to lose? No, we didn't, it was a stunning team effort. So tough titty. Nice one, thanks
For me its why we love this game. Over a season, the best teams will be at the top, and the worse teams will be at the bottom, but on any given day anyone can beat anyone, Man City should have beat us, Man United should have beat Blackburn, we should have beat Wigan at home and Brighton in the cup, they/we didnt but thats what makes this game so special. But the fans of the sides go into uproar when they get beat off a lesser club, we did it with Wigan and Brighton, but thats the romance of this beautiful game for me and the romance of the cups, you just never bloody know whats going to happen most of the time. (even when it goes against your own club).
