Bollox. He did what he could as an OAP before his wife got sick. Not his fault Harry offered him a good deal for him, and the upper Management approved eventually, reluctantly.
His signing was yet another example of Harry's clouded judgement:- please log in to view this image Harry Redknapp with West Ham's bright young stars Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand Rodney had it spot on. Rodney Marsh tells QPR boss Harry Redknapp: Axe Rio Ferdinand NOW! HARRY REDKNAPP has been warned he must AXE Rio Ferdinand or face relegation with QPR. By Carl Eldridge / Published 12th October 2014 please log in to view this image FLAW: Rodney Marsh reckons Ferdinand is the weak link in the R's defence [GETTY] Former Hoops hero Rodney Marsh reckons ex-England defender Ferdinand is struggling with the pace of the Premier League and should have retired when he left Manchester United. Ferdinand, 35, signed a one-year deal at Loftus Road when he was released by the Old Trafford giants but has failed to impress and Rangers are bottom of the league, three points from safety. And Marsh has levelled criticism at the centre-half following a comprehensive defeat at West Ham in QPR's last game. He said: "The players had a lot to answer for against West Ham but, for me, Ferdinand looked like he played in divers boots. "He's had one year too many for me. If he carries on like this for the next ten games, it won't salvage his season. "It's probably all over for Rio. He's a great, great player but at the moment he's really, really struggling." Marsh also believes Redknapp must bring in at least three new faces in the January transfer window if they are to have any chance of staying in the top flight. He added: "The display against West Ham was pathetic and embarrassing. "Owner Tony Fernandes needs to look at the transfer window. "We will be in trouble at Christmas and Harry Redknapp must add three players who will get the team out of this relegation battle. There needs to be changes. "I look at players like Leroy Fer. Is he capable of pulling us out of a relegation battle? "Sandro was brought in to show some fight but isn't. He looks like a red card waiting to happen every time he plays. "I'm very, very disappointed in QPR and I can't see how they will dig themselves out of this hole. Who can they sign to change the team? "The only person to show a bit of fight is Joey Barton and he's not playing." "I didn't see anything in the team to give the fans any hope. There was nothing. No positives at all. "It was incredibly poor." http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...QPR-boss-Harry-Redknapp-Axe-Rio-Ferdinand-NOW
this will be the second ban request in less than a week I thought things would have calmed down now the season has finished do bbhs comments really require a ban???????ottimo
Personally, BBH hasn't offended anyone on this board, just given an honest opinion. So, it doesn't sit with my own views on the matter under discussion , but it certainly doesn't merit yet another draconian measure by the mods in form of another ban. How boring would this board be if we all agreed with each other?
Tbh, BBH comments upset me by their complete lack of compassion for a fellow humanbeing - irrespective of their role in society. Not an ounce of empathy to be seen. However, he/she does not deserve a ban simply because some of us may find his/her comments reprehensible.
That last comment ,along with the quotation, exposes you totally BBH. Are you just a WUM or do you genuin;ey feel the way you claim?
Not quite true. I, for one, found his comments incredibly offensive. However, not really bothered about a ban or not since I can ignore if I wish to.
I don't think you should ban someone for a personal opinion even if his comments sound insensitive and stupid. BHH has not upset me in anyway, i just think its sad to feel the way he does. To say he has lost both parents to Cancer and then quote that Rio "will probably get married again within a year" is such an heartless immature thing to say. It's like saying i've lost both my parents, be over it in a week and move on. I lost my Father (a life long R's Fan) 5 years ago in August and still not over it. I guess BHH is either on a WU which isn't funny or he is just an insensitive @@@@. Either way he is saying the wrong things.
Bloody he'll listen to you lot ! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Let's stick to the football Rio no longer plays for us . Let's look forward to the new season .
What is so wrong with congratulating a great player on his achievements in the game now he has retired? It's not all about QPR. He also retires carrying the burden of his wife's sad passing, so the guy deserves a bit of praise.
What's he done to merit praise? Good player five years ago. Average player three years ago. Could barely move one year ago. Nice one Rio. If we could just get back the millions the club has lost in your wages we might be able to sign a couple of players who actually want to play for QPR
As I said this not all about QPR! Not everything has to be! He has been a great player for other clubs and deserves praise for that, especially in the light of his very sad loss.
I don't really see the link. Sympathise with him for his loss and, if you like, praise the defender he once was when he gave a ****, but I don't see how losing his wife makes him especially worthy of praise for his work.
Give it a rest , I'm talking about all the non stop bickering after the initial point . Whatever good luck Rio blahh blahh I get that but the 3 pages off guff after ... People need to get out more . And all this crap calling for bannings , you sound like old bill if you dnt agree dnt read !
Your first paragraph is spot on. But for me it its Harry and the Board's fault for giving him the contract. Rio accepted it as most would, and I think he tried his best, on the training field too I hear. He was just past it.
