I think it's also to do with the quality of the goals and the performance. If you lose to a dodgy penalty, an own goal and a rebound off the strikers arse then you feel hard done by. But when they're strikes as good as those by Ba and Cabaye you just go "wow".

Besides which, I think most Utd fans are so tired of other fans whinging about the ref, the luck, the conspiracy, the phases of the moon and anything else under the sun as an excuse for losing to us that we just can't be arsed to stoop to their level!

To be honest I'm a big fan of Hazard, but I'm not sure a left winger is what we need right now - I'd rather De Rossi if we can prise him away from Roma. But if we can get the CM we need I'd be over the moon to see Hazard in a Utd shirt

He's a great player but he was abysmal yesterday.

 

The best of players can have an off day. Surprised at the abuse the lad is getting from some quarters frankly. He's still 19 and learning the game for crying out loud.

 

Agreed , if I'm being honest , when he signed , I expected him to fold under the pressure especially considering the fact he moved for a big fee at such a young age (look at Mandy) but he's done fantastically well and a few bad performances definitely don't mean he's a bad player.

 

He has been very impressive for most of the season. When I saw him pull on the Rovers shirt it was always as a CB though I understood he could play CM. Very good career ahead of him. Hopefully!

By the way fancy swapping Gibson, Evans, and Anderson for Cabaye?

Over the course of 90 minutes Jones was decent, but it's just those two mistakes which have completely overruled anything good he did during the game:

1). Giving away that freekick
2). The own goal

If someone plays reasonably well over the duration of a match, but makes two dumbass errors, I'm not sure how his performance is classed?

Btw, did anyone notice Berbatov? I honestly forgot he was on the pitch until he was substituted. I don't know why he goes off the boil like that sometimes after doing so well.

 

The only thing I'm annoyed about with us at the minute is that Fergie is dragging Jones from pillar to post every game, he can't just use him as a utility player who can play anywhere in defence or in CM. He's only 19 and if his confidence goes he'll end up just like another Micah Richards who let's face it, he's never reached the heights expected of him. In my opinion Jones and Smalling are the future of our club at the back and Vidic is our captain. Rio should be put on a pay as you play contract, or shipped out because he's a complete liability nowadays, always putting in stupid challenges, yes he was hard done by at OT vs Newcastle but last night he got away with one.

I've been saying how good Tiote and Cabaye are for ages, I wanted Cabaye at Old Trafford in the summer, he's immense on his day. Wenger obviously also wants him and Tiote in his side. It's inevitable that richer clubs will come in and bid for these players but they should be selective where they go. There's a lot of clubs occupying spaces at the top of this league where they cannot genuinely offer players chances to win things like the League and Champions League trophies...such as Liverpool.

Your keeper Krul is also turning out to be something special too, I've been impressed in the past with his shot stopping but last night his command of his area, awareness and reactions were top notch, Rooney and Hernandez would have punished him twice if he hadn't been on his game - even then we'd have still lost though so well done to NUFC, Alan Pardew and especially Demba Ba who is looking like buy of the bloody century!
