Leicester fans must be walking around like a bloke with two cocks today. Lucky ****ing bastards. I should imagine Mahrez will have his pick of Europe's finest clubs and Leicester will make a fortune on him. Or maybe he'll stay as Leicester will be rolling in cash and maybe feel they don't need to sell. Maybe Mahrez will feel loyalty towards them.
I hope I'm proved wrong but have a feeling 2 or 3 of the "stars" in the Leicester team will go to so called "bigger" clubs and with the extra games Leicester will then struggle. This summer and the transfer window will be hugely important for Leicester and whether they stay towards the top end of the table or slowly slip down the table.
Just a thought but who were the 2 Spuds players that weren't booked last night? Wouldn't want them 2 in the trenches with me.
They will have sooooo much cash to spend as it is mate, what with the PL prize/TV money, Champions League money and the fact that there is a 70% hike in TV money coming next season. Add £40m (?) for Mahrez should they choose to sell and they will have fortunes to spend. Keeping that team spirit together will be tricky with incomings and outgoings but have no doubt they will have the money to build and to replace any outgoings.
Fantastic for Leicester - and for football. Just what the game needed. The big guns splashing crazy cash had almost killed the game.
I don't think it will change the game for good, probably is just a blip. It would be lovely to see another random win it next season. Just say for instance (and I'd hate it if they did but they do have a cracking manager), West Ham won the league next season. I wonder if it could change the landscape. It needs two or three years of clubs not spending a fortune, having good scouting or youth networks taking the title. The money men would get bored pretty quickly. Sadly it will probably revert to type with the same 6 clubs occupying the top 6 again, having spent the national spend of a small country to achieve it.
