I had a pair of Santos jeans from Matalan that I bought for gardening etc.

Looked a proper **** in them.

This was over 20 years ago mind.

I rarely buy jeans so when I do I spend a few quid on them these days.

Many moons ago, in the days when my parents bought and chose all my clobber a shop opened up on Holderness Road that sold just jeans, these jeans were branded ''Cowpoke'' - I believe they were 5 bob a pair, I say pairs despite some being sold with odd length legs, some had the crotch section down to the knees and most had stitching done by a one-eyed, pissed up chinaman ....... 50 years on and I'm still traumatised from owning, and having to wear a pair of jeans that were drainpipe in one leg and flared in the other bastard.

I've had some proper dog **** hand me down jeans as a kid.

One pair I recall, with an equal measure of shock and shame, were bleached almost white and had brown leather patches on the knee. Proper wafters as well.

I must have looked like a right clown in them.

I am reliably informed that Ehab Allam has been invited down to Wembley by Adam Pearson as a thankyou for building up Hull FC's support in recent years. Hull continue to grow their fanbase without really trying, whilst Ehab gently helps them out of our games and into theirs.

Town was heaving yesterday with people wearing black and white (as might be expected after a semi final win) and I am unaware of Adam Pearson trying to erase 152 years of history or tinkering with their badge, which of course bears this city's coat of arms (which some seem to confuse with Hull City Council's logo). So people have no qualms about wearing the branded leisure wear or replica shirts.

Congratulations to the Airlie Birds and their 7,000 strong army that travelled all that way to the Keepmoat.

In any kind of weather, and all that.

ITS A SELL OUT screams local media.

At a 15k capacity stadium an hour away from both clubs' homes.

I went to a Hull game at Odsal one Sunday in 1979 with about 25,000 there (maybe 10,000 Hull).

Different licensing laws back then and boozy Sunday coach trips were all the rage.

It's been an emotional week , what with City dipping their toes in the water at the Nou Craven Park.

    Ehab loves his rugby league.

Must have been some traffic hold ups as there were empty seats visible amongst both sets of supporters. To be fair 46 miles and 33 miles is a fair distance to travel and a great expense. I am sure many more will find the time and money to go to Wembley.

The BBC commentator must have been reading the HDM which described the KC as packed with 16,000 in it for an FC game ( a City game with 18,000 was described as a third empty) as he declared the Keepmoat was packed to the rafters.

No. There were 20,000 there but the crowds were played down.

Anyone's mother used to stitch up long jeans inside the leg then periodically let them down as you grew. Ending up with jeans with various shade blocks at the bottom. Jesus it was like a cut down tree showing how old you where

    A like is not enough.

You'll grow into them she said, and you did time and time again.
