Does everything Marcus loves plus a love of the England tiddlywinks team and Real Tennis English players beat everything he mentioned plus loving the England football team? Or is one(football) deemed more important than the the two? How would that be measured? Who decides. Surely somebody who doesn't follow the football team can up hold patriotism just as well with other interests? Would it then be unfair to judge a mans patriotism by you're own personal taste in activity? Respect to the people who follow any English representative with pride but I don't get your logic fella. Surely it's not actually judging patriotism here, surely it's judging an interest/hobby/sport/pastime in accordance to a person's personal opinion of that particular activity and it's importance to oneself? If that makes sense Just seems there no scale of fair measure
And there's a K in "know" would I be right in thinking you lot pronounce it "k-now"? Logic doesn't go hand in hand with English!
Smart ass! Nice one! This isn't about pronouncing a silent letter though. This is about you being a posh twat and not saying PATriotism properly!
I disagree with that mate. I think posh is a hyperbole... Which I presume you pronounce hyper-bowl...
Haven't got a bloody clue what you just said so, are we trying to prove who's had less to drink tonight? In which case you win... But it's hy-per-bo-****ing-lee I think
You're so provincial pops! Not like our southern cousins. It's Marley-bo-an apparently! I've tried to educate these southern bugger's but it's a lost cause! They'll never speak the queens English like we do!
what absolute ****e! Patriotism is love of ones country. Not love of what ones country does in a sporting or other nature. I love being English. I love living in England. I love the country. I'm patriotic. Half of the people at the international match will know when st Patrick's day is but won't have a clue about st George's day - are they more patriotic than me if they like everything I do and the English football team? Yeah of course they are!!
During the '66 WC England had one 19YO, two aging fullbacks from the 2nd Div, a broken down centre half and two forwards/strikers that the press wanted replacing with their own choice. Within the squad of 22 players were youngsters who had graduated from the Under23 level and they were rooting for their chance. Fortunately the manager new what he wanted in style, pace and tactics and stuck with the main core of players whilst letting the up and comings know what he wanted for the future and England did well for the manager's reign until the press savaged him when things slipped. I have no idea how we will do when the tournament gets underway, but after seeing some of the games from Germany, Italy and the like I feel we have more than an outside chance of doing well enough to keep the players together looking to the 2018 WC. Roy Hodgson has proven he is not the knackered old clueless idiot who could not run a bath.
Well, we won`t be playing Holland. Failed to qualify. wtf has happened to them? Not that long ago they had a cracking squad.
That own goal by VanPersie just about sums up their current attitude. Dutch are their own worst enemies.
I once watched the england womens curling team. It was ok. But now im ashamed i have shunned this sport and great nation in favour of brazilian beach volleyball. My alligence is wafer thin.
