Warky, To be fair to hampy, its not a bad comparison, Brexit was based on deceit and lies, Ipswich season ticket sales etc were also sold based on lies! Both are run by shambolic, clueless idiots, imho!.
Harrison off the mark against Brum already. Can imagine that one is going to come back to bite us on the bum.
I don't really understand this one especially as there wasn't an immanent replacement but then again of course I shouldn't have expected any less. It's not even about he lack of money anymore it's about the stupidity of selling our assets without a plan to replace and just general lack of signings
Having to use military grade Psyops on your own population to take back control of 'your democracy' to hand 'power' to people like Theresa May and Boris Johnson to make laws they could have made anyway, failing to negotiate any kind of exit deal before you even start trying to negotiate trade, breaking up the Union and STILL thinking it's a good idea. That is a special kind of sherry - and ALMOST as farcical as Evans' ownership.
Back to football & ME has written a column for the match day programme which has been posted on twtd. Same old same old really. Waffling on about finances but he does say he would like 2/3 additions before the end of the window. I’m a sceptic in my old age & will believe it when I see it. I also think the time has passed for things like columns/ spoon fed questions. I feel he needs to attend a supporters club meeting or 2 & answer real questions but I think I’m dreaming if that’s ever going to happen
If you believe all the Brexit talk will just stop or quieten down after the 31st October, Warky, then you've got quite the shock coming! Just watch the subsequent weeks, months, and years be dominated by debate and news about the post-EU economic and social order. Simply leaving the EU on the 31st October is just the start, and if it's in the form of 'no deal', then it'll be the opening of a rather tumultuous second phase as the government is not prepared for the scale of challenges facing them. Not to mention the fact that we've then got to negotiate all the trade deals with other countries / trading blocs, which will take years. The only way we can all 'move on' and avoid talk and headlines of Brexit is to call the whole sorry thing off. And if you think the Leave campaign didn't break several laws (neglecting the undeniable fact that the Electoral Commission has fined the organisation for breaches of law), then you need to get a more balanced diet of news sources.
Do you really think ‘calling the whole thing off’ would be an end to Brexit.......I fear ignoring a democratic vote of the people would be a very dangerous thing to do.......much more damaging than leaving a old boys club.
I think a second referendum (okay, technically the third) would the best way out of this log-jam and would provide a clearer indication of where people stand on the issue, for instance - polling consistently shows a dwindling support for 'leave', particularly a 'no deal' outcome. Parliament needs guidance, because they evidently are stuck between 'respecting the will of the people' and trying to get through a Brexit deal that avoids economic pain. What Parliament has thankfully almost certainly agreed upon is the need to avoid crashing out with 'no deal' - because of the long-term economic pain and disturbances that will cause. The uncomfortable truth for Leavers is that the original referendum was too simplistic and that voters were consistently told that leaving would be painless, easy, and would provide us more benefits, money, and financial security. None of this has come to pass and signs are all pointing towards the opposite of a land of unicorns and money trees. The right compromise (and a 52-48 per cent outcome should have resulted in type of compromise) would have been to vote for May's deal. Or at least something resembling May's deal - as we would have got a better one if our negotiators were a) prepared and b) mindful of the fact that we are leaving a trading bloc and therefore should not expect to be given everything we want. Even Nigel Farage himself admitted that in the event of 52-48 win for Remain in the 2016 referendum, another one would be needed. Can we rename the thread Welcome to the Reality Leavers?
Yes great idea Nuggetts lets hold another referendum and if you still don't get the result that you want then hell we will keep on having them until you get the right result. That will really bring the country together! The white traditional working class that have been left behind especially by the Labour party will see it as yet another huge betrayal if Brexit is reversed. Democracy is only democracy if you agree with the result it seems. That's the problem with you liberal London intelligentsia. You all preach tolerance and liberal values but are intolerant of those who dare to have a different set of opinions and values to yours.
Are these all the coal miners that your beloved Thatcher put out of work or the Nissan, and car industry factory workers whose factories are closing or being pulled because of Brexit? Or perhaps the nurses that could have been funded from the billions of no deal money? Also, not sure what race has to do with anything?
At least there will be no shortage of Beef once they have culled the 45,000 Cows as a result of the No Deal Brexit
