I just go back a screen to the main forum. It doesn't give the same warning as before so at first I was worried it was posting partly written items but it works for me. There might be other ways (ctrl, shift and home might highlight all the post including quoted parts on laptops and then you can just hit delete and start again).
Possibly deleting the part reply might do it (the keyboard shortcut I mentioned might work or ctrl, shift and end if the cursor is at the start). It might remove blank replies but think others are WIPs so retain them so worth a go. It's not a problem on Windows phone so I'd need to get on a proper computer to experiment.
Cheers mate. I'll try deleting all the text. Seems very strange that there's no cancel option like before.
Under Preferences you can de-select <Show people's signatures with their messages> which will free up space between posts on a thread.
There's an alternate theme available now - just above the "About Us" at the bottom left you can select between default and alternate. It might be worth a few people having a look and giving pros/cons for each one. Mick is still playing with them so if say everybody preferred one theme but thought there was one part of the other that was better it might be possible to get it added in. The red/white arrow has been replaced with a black arrow at the bottom right. I think the forum directory (ie Forums/football/PL/QPR) links have been added to the bottom of the page at the same time as well. Not sure what the "going to the first unread post" variations are about. On the old setup if you clicked the thread name it took you to the first post, but if you clicked the little icon at the left of the thread name it took you to the first unread post. On this setup whenever I click a thread name it's automatically to the first unread post. If people are experiencing different things it might help Mick if people said what browser it was they were using. A slight difference I've noticed is that an unread post is now an actual unread post. If you come on the site now but don't open any threads then the next time you come on all the currently unread posts will still show as unread. On the old forum it was just the ones that had been made since you were last active.
Hmm, alternative style is a bit clearer and sharper, but you get virtually no banner, at least on a pathetic Nexus 7.......... ......on balance prefer the alternative.
Alternative is much more friendly. I cant stand the "default" style pesonally. Just seems like im on LFW now !!
Alternative reads more clearly (in terms of font and background colour) plus has an up/down arrow to speed up navigation (although the down arrow goes too far down and should stop near the default/alternative button to be most effective). Thanks Ricardo.
Will we be able to dislike a post? I can't believe what that Londons Only EC Winners posted on one of our threads. He really should try to think before posting but I guess that's going to be a tough ask for some Chelsea fans!
for some reason I used to like knowing how many times I had posted on certain threads ie twat (just noticed that) or the joke thread will that feature be coming back
Anyone know what the green flashing "dot" on some users avatars signifies? Does it mean they are online, or active on this thread? Miss the list of active users/thread that was on old site - as said before, good for match threads. Also, anyone know the different levels of "member" status? I seem to be jumping between Newbie, Member and Active Member indiscriminately - and therecs some "Well Known" and "Senile" members too!!!
Just gave the alternative layout a try. I can see this being better for phones but on a laptop it looks awful in my opinion. I'm sticking
Alternative is sharper on laptop and a bit easier to read, although DT's wonderful banner has almost disappeared from view........
Can you go see a list of your posts, ranging from most recent backwards, like you could on the old Site? There's a number of niggling little negatives that I'm noticing. You can't seem to refresh the page when you're on another Board with a click at the top. It appears that you have to go back into the Forum's page and click on the Club's Board you were on to do so.
If you click on the icon at the top (might be your avatar -the leftmost of the three) and select your content, it seems to list it (not the easiest at-a-glance list).
