Andy Robertson says there is no better feeling for the Liverpool players than hearing their names sung by Reds fans – and that Virgil van Dijk is particularly delighted with his new chant. Speaking after signing his new five-year contract, the Scottish left-back was full of praise for the club as a whole, but particularly the fans, who he says give the players a real lift when they sing. Via LiverpoolFC.com, Robertson said: “I obviously hear the songs. It’s always nice [to hear]. When the fans sing any of the lads’ names, I am sure it gives them all a lift because if they appreciate you then it is the best feeling. “They’ve sang my song a few times and it is nice to hear it. It can give you a lift in the game. A lot more of the lads are getting songs now and they’re all getting appreciated. “It was one of the big things for Virgil, I think, to get a song. He is delighted – I heard him singing it in the changing room a couple of days ago. He loves it!”
oh ffs, see if i can ruddy remember virigl van dyke, its virgil van dyke, watch him defend and watch him score, its virgil van dyke, its virgil van dyke. or something like that.
They don't write them like that anymore. Might even get an Ivor Novello award for that piece of magic
He’s our centre-half, he’s our number four, watch him defend and we watch him score. He can pass the ball, calm as you like, he’s Virgil van Dijk, he’s Virgil van Dijk!
Jurgen Klopp charged by FA for comments following Liverpool's 1-1 draw with West Ham Jurgen Klopp has been charged by the FA over comments he made about the officiating in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with West Ham on February 4. Klopp was critical of referee Kevin Friend's decision making in the second half of the game at the London Stadium, which saw Michail Antonio first-half strike cancel out Sadio Mane's opening goal. James Milner was clearly offside in the build-up to Mane's goal but the officials missed it. Klopp suggested that influenced Friend's decision-making in the second half, after he had been made aware of the officiating error at half-time. The Liverpool boss told Sky Sports: "We had good moments, coming through the channels and scored the goal, which I've now been told is offside. This explains a little bit the second half, because I think the referee knew at half-time. He knew it for sure at half-time, and then you saw a lot of strange situations. They were not decisive but just rhythm breakers. That obviously didn't help us. "If I've made a mistake in the first half, I don't want to open the gap even more as a human being." Klopp was involved in a heated discussion with West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini following the full-time whistle and then went onto the pitch to remonstrate with Friend. The German has now been found to be in breach of FA Rule E3, which prohibits questioning an official's integrity. The FA said in a statement: "It is alleged that comments he made in a post-match interview following Liverpool's league game against West Ham United on 4 February 2019 breached Rule E3(1) as they questioned the integrity of the match referee and/or implied bias." Klopp has until 6pm on February 18 to respond to the charge. https://www.skysports.com/football/...s-following-liverpools-1-1-draw-with-west-ham
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on meeting Daniel Craig, disguises and 'warm-weather' training https://www.skysports.com/football/...iel-craig-disguises-and-warm-weather-training
What's the tune, not that generic one that they use in 'He's one of our own' type chants ?? Seems to fit the words
1923- 1915 Watching Liverpool at the age 8 is commendable. I am sure it was not live, because games were not televised then. He must be given a medal..
