1st of all welcome BishopstonBRFC Glad to have you on board! No merging from myself but there is the odd move. Let me explain... This board is the home for Rovers fans. Rovers fans on here can do what they please. Myself and the other mod (Pirate49) lets everything go from Rovers fans as its your (our) home. We rarly have to moderate at all because the owner of this site believes in self moderation, a site where you can comment freely. You may have noticed that this site has a board for all football clubs, so we do sometimes get visitors from other teams like City fans who like to banter with us and you will get use to them. They are a harmless bunch on here and sometimes can be good fun. But sometimes they get a little too excited and put banter on threads which then gets the thread ruined. It happened a lot in recent years so we set up a banter thread designated just for banter with vistors. We gasheads can banter with each other as and when we like as its our board. But banter from visitors on our threads that can potentially ruin the flow of the thread, I move that comment of theirs to the banter thread. Even that is rare as most of them now are use to our system on this board. Hope that helps. Oh and there is a swear filter at the bottom of the page so if you are easily offended with bad language then you change the setting
We have 150 registered gasheads which includes those who have joined us today However we do get a lot of gasheads who read along but dont actually register and join in. Each time I now post a thread on twitter that thread gets over 50 guests reading! Would be great if they can sign up and join in too! 19 have registered today so far since the OS forum closed! Hi fellow Gasheads. Glad to be in a place where fans are wanted and allowed to make valid and constructive comments. Between here and the Skrill Banter page I'm enjoying being part of the family again. Here's to the unknown future *raises a glass of thatchers* UTG!
One thing that has come out of this 'them versus us' bollocks is that it seems to have reunited the fans again somewhat. Still a way to go, but this could be a great thing for us gasheads in the long run. Get the right infrastructure in place, and we could have a devastating combination of very good united fans and a decent side to follow. Has worked for teams in the past
what i love about this place and i have encouraged this all along and i think this sets us apart from other sites is that if there is a difference of opinion between us, we still show respect to each other and each others views/opens. we all understand that we all want the best for rovers and just have different ideas on what is the best. on other forums people belittle each other and their opinion. were gasheads, we are like a big family. we stick together. so we have that type of relationship here. respect at all times to each other unless its banter of course
As a life-long supporter who lives thousands of miles away, I really welcome a dedicated forum like this.....my two sons who live in UK keep me in touch with 'happenings' at the Club, but there's nothing like a banter with like=minded fans......God bless you !!!!
Welcome Thairover I would struggle being you! Its late here nearly 1:30am and its morning your end so yourself being on forum when its dead as everyone is asleep must be annoying as no one to talk to or banter with. I would struggle Hope you stay with us though
