So this winger/withdrawn striker/playmaker/attacking midfielder who is so integral to United's system...he's managed 1 goal and 3 assists in 19 PL games for a team that is averaging nearly 2.5 goals per game. I'm missing something.
Problem is you have no width in your team, that's why you've struggled to break teams down at home. You seem to just play a team full of central midfielders, Hazard plays on the left, and he's right footed, whilst Mata plays on the right yet he's left footed, so all they do is cut in. So it makes you easy to play against, as all teams need to do is keep compact and pack the middle of the park. Swansea did it to perfection
as i said, his main role is to service his team mates, with better finishers like RVP and Rooney upfront needing people doing the hard work sure he could had been much better if he can add goals to his game, but he spend most of time at flanks and linking up and service RVP and rest of team, beside he is still young and will be improve his goal scoring his record goalscoring is better than walcott anyway with england team, needed almost 30% of games Walcott played to over pass him in goals scored for england
then he's failing as he has 3 assists. 4 fewer than one of the players he's supposed to be "servicing", Rooney and 2 less than Evra. with regards to his goalscoring record for England compared to Walcott's....I doubt Welbeck has ever started an England game in any position other than the lead striker whereas Walcott has played the vast majority, if not all, of his England games as a winger. I find the comparisons with Mata and Silva laughable. completely different players.
he didn't played Fulham game because he just played facing the saints in mid week and Sir alex wanted to refresh the side, with replacements (nani and Valencia) are good enough and much fresher, he was introduced anyway facing Fulham in 2nd half but for games played prior to that Man Utd 2-1 Southampton (started) Tottenham 1-1 Man Utd (started) Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool (started)
Spot on, was saying on our board I'd love us to go in for Nani in the summer! We're missing Moses badly too.
He came on with 8 minutes left vs Fulham He was only starting games prior to that due to Rooney being injured
assist is last touch of pass of the ball .. we all applauded how scholes was awesome last season, he had zero assist
again, he is not Rooney or RVP .. his work may not look a la maradona style .. but the fact he was not been replaced by Sir Alex, means he was happy with his contribution and opted instead to take out Kagawa in all 3 matches
again both are 2 different type of players with Wilshere is the more talented and creative , but Cleverly working harder, great first touch passes, scoring more, and defending better
