being a threat is not a key factor .. Heskey was scaring the defenders and i never rated him welbeck is a team player, he is quick, link up play and defend back, he is great at what he is doing at the moment is Lukaku best on what he do? I doubt it, he is a sub in WBA and for Belgium
Out of interest what started this debate? I dont even see how at this moment in time its relevant. Both are bit part players right now and have a long way to go before they can be mentioned alongside the likes of Drogba.
it was on the rival thread, i thought i would like to keep the debate in one thread, on Lukaku, before he joined Chelsea how many teams wanted him, there was talk of Real Madrid wanting him but i doubt that's true.
Messi, Robin Van Persie.... I think its fair to say Centre Halves are terrified of these two players. Neither are mountains of men are they? Size in modern football means very little.
So Lukaku, who actually scores goals, is less of a threat than Welbeck who is a defensive forward who assists the odd goal and scores even less than he assists? Like Heskey.
first it is 2.5 years difference secondly, agree, Lukaku have more space to improve, but I thought were judging him at their moment.. we had similar discussion over Walcott Vs Welebck, and people forget too that Welbeck is 1.5 years younger than walcott will Lukaku be a starter in chelsea next season ahead of a joke like Torres, i really doubt it .. he is a 3-4 season far from even imagining him starting regularly for chelsea anyway at the moment Lukaku is not better than Welbeck.. and if we talk about the future, well who knows about the future , it is premature to assume who will be better with more time
there are lots of levels of being a threat RVP is a threat skills wise Heskey is a biggest threat in a different way as defender can't beat him physically
And what you established in the Walcott v Welbeck debate was that we had to make allowances for the age difference and therefore Welbeck was the better player despite the fact all evidence suggested otherwise. However in this instance, age should not be taken into account as it would further enhance the view that Lukaku is the superior player as his potential is tremendous and his current form is impressive. You should become a lawyer.
is that we started many games for UTD and is now even ahead of chicha ? guess Sir Alex have no clue then playing a crap player all those games is that why he start too for England? guess Roy Hodgson have no clues too
Chicharito is a striker, you've made it clear that you don't consider Welbeck to be a goal scoring forward which is key to your assessment of him as he doesn't score many goals.
