I don't think Everton are going to struggle under Moyes

That’s why they were only 4th on my ‘hit list’ of possibles - the spammers struggled in his last year with them, but he’s a safe choice and I think they’ll be fine.

either way I was more insinuating I hope they also get 3 or 4 put past them in their opening game

Very true regarding possession, I mentioned it as the commentary team said three good goals on the counter and West Ham had zero threat in front of goal.

I wonder if you’ll change it depending on opposition or continue of waiting to hit teams on the break. Yes lots of scenarios, I hope we both stay up, no disrespect intended on my comments that I’d be surprised if you finish mid table, I think after three games you’ll be top 5 but you need to bag those points and with that confidence and momentum who knows
None taken, mate. I’d be surprised myself if we finished mid-table. We’ve signed Mukiele from PSG today, I think that’s another terrific signing personally. He’s said it was Xhaka that convinced him to sign for us. I think that’s us done now barring a couple loan players to fill the squad out. Time to start concentrating on shifting players out.

Our manager doesn’t play a possession game. He’s always been about nullifying the opposition threat and using the quick players to do the damage when the opportunity presents itself.

I'm hoping that this year is the year we convert from set pieces. We have enough giants in the team now.
I really think Piroe will thrive in the PL. I think he's a good finisher. If Chris Wood can do it then so can Piroe. I think he'll play behind Nmecha or DCL.
I think Harrison may be our cover LB and Aaronson will be played more on the right.
I think when we are pushing forward Gruev will slot in at LCB so our wing backs have freedom to bomb on.

Just my thoughts from pre season.

Well so far Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Villa don’t look like champions and they have all been fairly crap. Spurs looked good and so too did scum even though they got beat. They battered Arsenal and dominated but couldnt score due to a mix of bed shots from Mbuomo and good keeping from Raya that £200m front 3 looks scary and although Sesco only came on for the last half hour he was unlucky and Cunha was brilliant and unlucky shooting. Man City look the most likely so far

Rumours are that personal terms agreed with Noah Okafor.
Just read a piece from an Italian journo "Leeds have reached an agreement on the contract with Noah Okafor. Negotiations are accelerating. Leeds aim to finalize a permanent deal, Milan have not yet said yes and are considering." cut from a longer article but seems to have legs and AC Milan are aware…..

I don't know anything about him. What can we expect?

If you watched the AC Milan game, he was the guy who rinsed Schmidt down the Milan left hand side. If you watch the goal, he is the one who backheels the ball in the build up.

We had an agreement to sign him from Salzburg if we stayed up in the relegation season. He went to Milan instead. Had an injury and ended up at Napoli last year on loan. They won the league and Okafor only made the odd appearance.

His play style is one of power, pace, flair and he has a good eye for goal. He plays on the left wing but can easily operate from the right and also has a great record playing as a main striker albeit in Austria.

His weaknesses are his defensive work. He switches off. He has had a few injury problems. Milan turned down 15 million for him last week.

He has that match winning ability in him and would provide an element of magic to our attack.

Its not too serious at the minute as he is currently on the bench for Milan tonight.

I hate highlight videos but here is the latest one.

Loan was a bit weird he was injured at the time, allegedly failed a medical at leipzig, then passed one at Napoli a few weeks later.

recurrent soft tissue injuries the main concern for me. Seems to miss 1/3 of a season on average throughout his career.

If he didnt have injury issues then we wouldn't have a chance of getting him.

Im a bit concerned about nearly all our signings being injury prone.

Sunderland fans are saying they played fantastic, reports stating they scored well on the counter attack to a very poor hammers team. I’d be amazed if they finished mid table. Good thing is Hammers look like a team that could be fighting relegation. West Ham had nearly 63% of the ball

Sunderland have Burnley and Brentford up next, a great opportunity for them to bag a head start

While 1973 still leaves a bad taste in the mouth (and I was there), I do actually like Sunderland and want them to stay up (with us).

There's nothing happening imminently with Okafor. He's came off the bench for the last 10 minutes tonight for Milan.

If it was serious then he wouldn't have been risked. We obviously dont have any deal with Milan.

Tbh, he doesn't look all that good.

Is he a winger (kinda tall for that) or a No 9 ?
