On the subject of players not wanting to come to Leeds, we have seen quite a few reported with a couple going to Sunderland due to knowing the French manager and we know Paixcoa chose elsewhere. I don’t mind that happening but what I don’t get is that our so-called list wasn’t actually any good when it came to forwards. Why is a player like Piamento knocking us back.
You would think a lot of work had gone in to sorting our list out months ago. Players agents sounded out etc, but to come to the window opening and go in for Piaxcoa and spend ages on him only for him to go elsewhere, lots of time on Munoz, no more left wingers looked at. We will see when the window closes if we really did have targets and were waiting for dominoes to drop, but right now it looks like pee poor planning to me especially when you start looking at BEK from Leicester late on and Doak from Liverpool who won’t be ready right now. There are far too many average type players mentioned who do not improve what we have. Keeper, defence and midfield are decent (once we get FB cover) but so far so bad up top and thats where we really do need to do something

It now seems Pinamonti knocked us back due to worrying about last 6 promoted clubs being relegated and now confirmed West Ham and Brentford have been speaking to him

Slow Sunday tranny news so lots going on with the clickbait sites talking about Dilain Bakwa for up to £30m and Krstovic at a reduced fee of £21.6m so make of that what you will. Fact is though that Bakwa has rejected Forest and no Italian club has come in for Krstovic yet but he says he wants to leave?
Well...anyone hoping Palace will be sucked in to a relegation battle will have to reassess after today's Community Shield. They looked very good vs Liverpool.
Another very smart recruitment club in my opinion. People laugh at Ipswich buying the best from the Championship but Palace brought in Olise, Eze (who Bielsa raved about) and Wharton. I know Olise has gone but they have probably turned about £130 million profit right there and started winning trophies. Add in Guehi and they have done really, really well.
Guehi is going in to his last year of his contract. He'll go for free next summer but rumours are that Liverpool will move for him before the window shuts.
Agree that the Championship has some talent. Its picking the odd one that can thrive. If you get them en masse like Ipswich, then you lack PL experience. You need a bit of both.
My point was, the other three will likely turn a huge profit with or without Guehi (and he probably will too because he’ll likely force a move). I’m totally with you on Tangana but the club will get slaughtered if we sign someone from the Championship for £1.2 million. Like I said, another smart recruitment club, Palace would do it if they wanted him
