Nothing to do with us but is it fair to sack Paul Heckingbottom? Lets face it we employed him and he was quickly sacked, which he took in good heart whilst sat on a beach with his wife. Bielsa took over and we know the rest. PH was then employed to try and stabilise a struggling blunts team, which he did really well. He then got them promoted the following season but his club are skint. They have an Arab owner who can’t afford to fund it to premier league levels so they are getting battered. The 3 teams who came up are all struggling even Burnley who thrashed the blunts, but the 3 teams who came up will all go down again and even Everton will be safe as these 3 teams are so poor. So is it PHs fault and should he take the blame? The blunts sold their best players in the summer and didn’t invest in replacements. Chris Wilder returns yet again.
Massive TV deal been agreed for £6.75 billion
Sky has been awarded four of the five packages and will show a minimum of 215 matches a season including Saturday 5.30pm kick-offs, Sunday 2pm and 4.30pm kick-offs, plus evening games on Mondays and Fridays and three midweek rounds. TNT will show a minimum of 52 matches a season including all 12.30pm kick-offs on Saturdays and two Midweek matches. Sky Sports will also broadcast all 10 matches on the final day of each season. Amazon have kept their powder dry this time and pulled out.the deal will start at the end of next season and run to 2029, the existing deal was worth £5 billion. No streaming service has bid this time and all seem to be focused on putting something different together for next time.
Sonny Perkins needs bringing back in January as he has had a nightmare at Oxford and the club is obviously a basket case. For me Perkins is a young player who is on a list of kids that deserve a chance. 18 goals last season mainly with the U21s but also played and scored in the EFLCup, The FA Cup and the Premier League 2 play off final. He was toe to toe with Mateo Joseph and can play as a 10 which is more his natural position. Let’s not forget the trouble we got from West Ham when we signed him, because Moyes had already played him in the first team and was first team squad player. These loan moves are supposed to be good for kids and
Plenty of sackings in the Championship with more to come. Duff sacked by Swansea, Mowbray sacked by Sunderland and Taylor sacked by Rotherham. Don’t think Tony Mowbray will be out work for long.
Italian media saying Roma are going to pay £5m for Diego Llorente’. The loan deal specifies that as soon as Llorente has played 50% of the Roma games they will buy him for the agreed price. Llorente is playing every game because Chris Smalling is out for the season, so he’s not far away from playing in the required number of games. I believe the price is pretty good even though we paid £18m for him back in the day. He’s now 30yo and we would only be getting a pittance for him after his first contract would be up by now. Silly giving him a new contract but lets get rid asap.
