Apparently his agent has been touting him around Italy and Germany, Italian clubs are skint so that's s no go I would think
Just waiting for Fabrizio to say: Here we go Big Sam to Everton then Jammy demanding Dyche needs more time
If Gnonto swallows his pride & apologises to the club & fans, I'd have him back fighting for a place. He has the ability to tear this league apart, & many forget just how talented he is. He's a wee boy with a ****bag of an agent's arm up his back working him. Same goes for Sini, but more difficult for me to accept, as he's not a wee boy & knows exactly what he's doing. Not a popular opinion, but do you really want £60m+ rotting in the u16s?
It would have to be a really grovelling apology but, as you say, he's young and petulant and has possibly been stitched up by his agent.
Does anyone know how our disciplinary system works. I know it's influenced by the PFA, but not sure how often a club can penalise a player for the one thing. For instance, if Gnonto was asked every day to play & refused, could he be fined 2 weeks wages every day, or once for ever game, or once per week, or just once a season. I have no idea, but would love to know. If it was my choice, it'd be 2 weeks wages every time I asked, & being quite talkative, that could be around 20 weeks per day! Seriously, though, anyone got a clue? Aski??
My guess is every time he refuses to play he should get fined two weeks wages. What I don’t know is if he is unavailable because he is not in the right frame of mind due to the stress of the situation, would this be considered an injury so the club can’t discipline him?
**** the little ****! I don’t even want to sell at this point. Just sit him on gardening leave for the remainder of his contract and kill his career. Little bastard. Sini is slightly different. He was carrying a knock and there were offers coming in. There is some kind of clause in his contract which is being looked at by multiple lawyers and he is not considered for selection until this is sorted. He's not actively pursuing a transfer or refusing to play. It's a contractual thing or so it's reported. I guess it will come out at some point but there seems little animosity between him and the club. Quite happy for Sini to leave btw. Just don't wish to destroy his career like I do Gnonto. Did I mention that he's a little ****?
Sorry WJ, I had a look at this last week but couldnt find anything that even hinted at an answer, nevermind anything official. Players can be fined for each breach of contract, but it has to be proportionate to the offence, but it's restricted to a maximum of two weeks wages. So I imagine refusing to make yourself available for selection and being absent from training for an extended period, would incur 2 maximum fines, but refusing to play and turning up late for training, would be 1 maximum fine, and a smaller fine for being late. I know Gerrard imposed a fine of £200 per minute a player is late, when he was at Villa
PFA max is 2 weeks. Woodgate got an 8 week fine, Bowyer got 6 weeks, later reduced to 4 after the nightclub incident in 2001. Bowyer had a smart brief, and things (apparantly) should have gone a lot worse for him at court. He refused to pay the fine, and he was transfer listed), and we lost an England player for another shockingly low fee. Leeds were only able to impose Woody's fine, as he agreed to it.
We can fine him what we want, but if its over two weeks wages, he has to agree to it, like Woody did.
