Weekend Debate

Hope we can talk him into staying for one season to give it a real go at promotion. Adams as well, I personally don’t think one year in the championship will affect their international places. Go with our blessing at a reduced price if we don’t make it. That is at least the discussion I’d be having with them.
James, Summerville and Sinisterra would be me three sacrifice Gnonto and Harrison if we can get big money. Sadly it seems like Summerville wants out, I can see us starting with James, Costa and Harrison

Evening all.

Regarding Forshaw we had an option to extend his contract by a further year which we have not taken up. Doesn't mean that come the new season we won't offer him a new contract on perhaps lesser terms, although of course as a free agent he can now shop around and get himself a deal elsewhere.

Does anyone else think pre season is over rated ?

At the end of the day it's about getting fit and professional footballers should be able to that with whichever club they're currently playing for. Plus the Championship is a long grind of a season so plenty of time to put the finishing touches to squads as the transfer window doesn't close unit the end of August.

Still over 2 months really until we know what we've go to work with for the coming season.

The only person who's ever made a difference to us in pre season was Bielsa but even then we faded towards the end of the season and missed out on promotion.

Agree but yet again no cash
Basically my best guess is that the loan fee will cover the amount due that summer to the players previous club. Add to that the loaned out player is off the wage bill and it doesn't sound too bad really.

Don't know if its been said on here as I been away and never caught up on most stuff but hearing on the grapevine. Orta made loan release clauses on a few players last season in getting them onboard. if we went down they had a option of moving on the next season on loan if the club loaning paid 100% of the wage. could be the reason everyone is bailing ship on loan.

No. Pre-season is very important. Massively under rated by fans. Makes a huge difference.

Jammy stop it right now my sides are aching. Finishing touches, we ain’t had any starting touches yet mate. Pre season really important as the coach shows the squad how he expects them to play. He then starts drilling it into the players and fine tuning so the team can go down to Stoke and smash them off the park and make the footballing world watch what’s happening. Yes Bielsa did that but the players need a plan and we saw last season what happens when the players don’t understand the plan or just ignore it
