I think bielsa was very exacting about the players he wanted and their skill set. Suspect it was a challenging environment for a DOF. Obviously pre and post bielsa he had more of a free reign. Summer signings looked like a 50:50 split of orta calls and marsch suggestions. looking back, injuries to Adams, sinisterra and Rodrigo - failure to replace keeper earlier and the failure to sign a left back look like the biggest contributors to the problems we’ve had.
Glad Victor has gone because last night AC Milan coach Piolli said they need a top striker in the summer and to get rid of CDK …….
I’m pretty sure Orta was going to leave at end of the season anyway. He wanted to go back to Spain. We were inline for the 49ers takeover which would have meant their appointment of a new DOF which I’m sure they have identified. Expect some key signings in the draft before next season. Touchdown.
Well being Bamfords biggest critic he was doing a man job today and playing well, shame he got injured YET AGAIN, ut that’s his world these days. Rodrigo again shows the way with goal number 15 for the season. Half time and a crazy error allows WHU back into the game at 1-1. Maybe a couple of missed opportunities by Harrison and Gnonto. We can still do this
1) Appointing Marsch 2) Not sacking Marsch before the World Cup 3) Sacking Marsch after spunking the January transfer budget Before we have an inquest, these are the three errors for this mess. I could have accepted one of those but all three and not learning is unforgivable. Even when we finally found the balls to sack Jesse we overlooked the possibility that maybe it won’t be easy to attract one of our first 10 choices I’m still livid that the history books are going to have the dinosaur Sam Allardyce listed as one of our ex managers
The most annoying thing is now having to wait a whole week before our misery is confirmed. Oh that and having to buy Eire a pint next Sunday
Said it yesterday POWDER PUFFS Lets look at some facts: West Ham in the bottom 3 for weeks and weeks and weeks. Forest bottom of the league and been in the bottom 3 all season Bournemouth bottom of the league or bottom 3 all season Palace around the bottom 3 most of the season All these teams showed fight, defended for their lives and won games and now all safe. The powder puffs are Southampton, Leicester who may yet escape and Leeds. I see a battling Everton performance next week and safety with Leeds going down whatever we do against Spurs. Shameful season
To cap it off Big Sam has just thrown the players under the bus, so cannot see him getting a reaction from them next week. He said the first 11 or 12 are ok but the rest have a lot of improving to do. I agree with him but would not have gone on telly to say. He’s basically saying that Meslier, Aaronson, Gnonto, Summerville, Roca, Greenwood, Rutter, Sinisterra, Cooper, Adams ………. What a fooking lash up. Seems like Sam knows he won’t keep us up and therefore no chance of keeping his job so he and his mates will be gone and he’s angry.
In recent days watched Luton battle for a win and then of course Sheffield Wednesday. Blood and guts for a cause. We had the opportunity to take advantage of a very lack lustre hammers in the first 20 mins but played slow and ponderous. Never showed any up and at em. The rest is history.
Difference in big money big time Charlie’s in the pl and honest football of the lower leagues. I for one will not Miss the pl
So while we have to wait a week until our relegation is confirmed I'd like to ask who is going to bring us back up ? It won't be Bielsa or Marsche which would have been my preferrence either last season or this. Both of those coaches at least had the strength of character to bounce back, whilst at the same time providing continuity and hopefully the ability to integrate our younger players However that's not going to happen as both were sacked and Big Sam won't be here past next Sunday so who will it be ? The likely truth is no one has a scooby doo and certainly Radrizani doesn't as proven by all the knee jerk reactions when we hit troubled waters for the first time on his watch.
Just got round to watching Ayling post game interview and what he said fooked me right off: he said we are playing well, go ahead and in charge then give away a silly goal. 2nd half we come out and we have nothing left we gave so much in the first half we had nothing left. Well Luke the team you played today was basically the same team that played Thursday night as Moyes picked a strong team. What happened to Leeds being the fittest in the league cover more miles than any team in the league. I’ll tell you what Luke you lot are a load of pussies who thought would get a pass today but WHU turned up and didn’t get tired like you thought, they blew you away. Even last season we still had the best running stats but Marsch made you all fat and lazy again
Latest relegation odds; Leeds 1/16 Leicester 1/8 Everton 3/1 No surprises there but does anyone think that we could stay up ? Leicester lose tomorrow (or on the last day), Everton lose to Bournemouth on Sunday and we beat Spurs the same day is what it takes for that to happen. Football...funny old game, just ask Sheff Wednesday fans
I think it’s entirely possible we beat spurs and Everton lose to Bournemouth. What would be really frustrating… and more likely… is we beat spurs and Everton draw - and we go down on goal difference by the odd goal.
