The way I do tables like spreadsheets etc, is do a screen print and paste that into MS Paint, then just copy and paste it on here as an image, although that only works when I'm at home using my pc, hence I can only tell you that Darko Milanic had a worse record than JM with 0 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats in 6 league games. So Jesse can take comfort in not quite having the worst record whilst in charge of us
I know all about him. Sadly. But I never mentioned him as he didn't complete a 'season' (ok, JM was 32 games, but a big enough number to be statisticly significant). I just remembered the Hock & the Heck getting so much abuse. I can't really remember that with Milanic
Of course. Although tommy Fury hasn't really fought anyone worth talking about, he should still tank him. Guess we will never know now as they would be foolish to stick to the supposed leaked script now I've seen a previous contract what said Paul was not allowed to be knocked out, so I believe they had every intention to follow the script originally. Drakes also gone very large on a Jake Paul knock out
Always been a huge boxing fan. Before I bored people to death on here about xg I used to bore people about boxing on other forums. Boxing has being dying for decades, Eddie Hearn accelerated it over here when he managed to convince people to buy ppv for sh*t domestic ‘grudge matches’ for plastic belts… and the rise of youtuber fights is the final nail. I don’t watch boxing anymore… most fight fans I know feel the same. The new generation can grow up watching these talentless cretins pretend to beat each other up in the name of entertainment, whilst laughing all the way to the bank. It’s basically the new WWF of the 2020s, without the charm.
I used to be a regular at smaller venues up north for years until about 15 years ago due to the matchmaking/blatant moneymaking. I used to know James Hare who was Naz's sparring partner at Wincobank in Sheffield. Used to go to loads of fights involving the Ingle stable and got to know a few fighters. The guy who lived behind me used to matchmake for Frank Warren. Great times but the sport has turned to **** over here.
Boxing, Paul vs Fury is obviously not a bout for boxing purists, but what if it brings boxing to a wider audience? My teenage daughter asked me the other day about this fight, she has never shown any interest in boxing.
And she probably won’t after it’s over. This is like love island **** and with all respect to your daughter why real sports might just die.
I've no problem with the youtube guys doing it. Good luck to them. I don't like the idea that there are clauses in the contracts saying that money will be withheld if fights finish a certain way ie a knockout. Like Milky says, it's WWE stuff.
It's supply and demand though innit. Social media is bigger than most of us recognise it to be. If the audience is there then there is money to be made. Boxing and its politics have signed their own death warrant.
If it gets a few kids off their social media and down the local boxing gym it can only be a good thing.
One of my lasses and her boyfriend have just paid 30 euros for that rubbish. I don’t get it but different generations I guess
Me neither, but it's a form of entertainment just like going to the movies, and we've all been ripped off there by watching **** flicks.
Free rubbish is the best. You might even get last years replica memorabilia for a bargain if you keep your eyes peeled in the ads
Hey I get it can sound like a grumpy old man bemoaning the youth of today. It’s actually more bemoaning the death of a sport I love. Some of these YouTubers made their millions by getting people to watch videos of them playing video games. To most of us the idea that 20 million people would subscribe to watch somebody else play a video game is breathtaking… but it is what it is. These guys know how to sell sh*t to a captive audience. I’ve no beef with anyone making a buck… boxing promoters have sold trash when they can since the 19th century… it’s more a sadness that people prefer to watch it than the real thing. I take the ‘may get a few kids down the gym argument’ - it’s a fair point and maybe it will - but will they be wanting to become the next great boxer… or a social media celebrity? Dunno. one of the reasons the sport has declined is there are easier sports (and much easier other activities) to make a few quid from these days. maybe in our health conscious, sanitised world there is no room for a sport like boxing any more. In 20 years time boxing will be banned, football will be non-contact and no heading… Diego llorente will be considering a comeback.
