Paragraph from MOT regarding the mistake of using an unfit Bamford

“But Bamford has shown in the last two seasons that he’s simply unable to replicate those numbers each season. His finishing is too inconsistent and his composure in front of goal is often lacking. Rodrigo started brightly this season but has been forced back to accommodate Bamford going back up top by dropping back into midfield. It’s a decision that has severely cost the side in goals, and Marsch may not even be awarded enough time to bring in a new striker in January.
He made it a priority area to address in the summer and was let down by the board who missed out on his top two targets. Wilfried Gnonto eventually came in to reinforce the squad but he’s hardly ready to play first-team football every week”

When Fulham scored their 2nd there was still around 15 mins to go yet the atmosphere in the stadium immedately went flat. A few chants of "sack the board" rang out and generally the support from our fans just wasn't there as you would hope. My feeling was there was still a good chance we could get something from the game but obviously that was a minority view.

Anyway what the f*ck does sack the board mean anyway ? Stupid chant is all I think and if you're not happy with the ownership then for god's sake come up with something more pertinent.

May be controversial opinion but for me Bamford should be nowhere near the first team until he gets fit and confident. Marsch trying to shoehorn Paddy in has cost us goals. Some may not like it but Rodrigo and Bamford have shared the striking role, Bamford appeared 8 times with zero goals Rodrigo 9 times and scored 5 goals, so why fk about with Bamford when clearly not on it. Gelhardt would be a better first option for Rodrigo and then Gnonto, leave Paddy to score a few for the kids and get fit

    It's a fair point Doc.

Bamford just seems to have the ability to get through on goal which none of the others possess, that said if he misses every time then it's ultimately pointless.

The conclusion I've come to is that Jesse is not the right fit for us and we need a different approach. Hopefully we'll then see an improvement from all our players as there's definitely talent in the squad but it's just not happening at the moment.

Agree with Jammy times up for Marsch. Tactics wrong as every coach knows how to play against us. They know we will go for it early doors but if we don't score will buckle and today we scored for a change and then gave it away. Heads drop every game as players are not enjoying it. If these players cannot grasp what Marsch wants them to do by now it shows its garbage. Aaronson, Adams and Kristensen know him and even they seem lost

Liverpool next, great that should be zero points and bottom on our own. Put him out of his misery

Forest at Arsenal on Sunday, so should stay off the bottom spot!

how does he get confident without playing - or ‘match fit’

not being facetious (rarity I know) just how do you manage his progression back without playing him?

my guess is, that he is fit bu doesn’t have the composure to consistently score in front of big crowds.

And guess what, Liverpool haven’t won away in the league this season. Teams love facing us when they have unwanted records
