Weekend Debate

Bournemouth, Fulham, Everton and Brentford are still above us so we need those 3 points because those clubs should be battling relegation. We cant afford to drop more points tomoz as we play Arsenal next so need to demonstrate that we are not going to be a struggling team this season

It’s still early in the season doc. Bournemouth have beaten the bottom 2 teams. Palace are better than all 3 of the sides you mention. Point is a good result, 3 would be lovely but shouldn’t be expected.

Everyone chucked the towel in against Arsenal already? They’re a good side but they’ll come to play… will suit us better than the bus Parker’s who’ve visited recently.

The only thing we have this season is we beat Chelsea who will take points off all the bottom sides. That becomes pointless though if we faiL to take points of the bottom teams and those around us.palace for me are one of those. Dropped points against Brentford, Wolves etc already and I would just love to take points and not start being on suicide watch again this term

Everyone seems to forget we beat wolves! We lost to Brentford in a bit of a freak game… and drew with the others around us. About what you’d expect. Understand you’re worried, but jeez it’s early in the season for must wins!

I want the points but it’s still a new team, so personally I’m more interested to see a decent performance after a scrappy showing last time out.

Will Bournemouth go the same way as Watford or should I be worried?

Well guess we need to start the January transfer thread early ;)

Leeds are set to beat bitter rivals Manchester United to the signature of Dutch player of the year Cody Gakpo in the New Year.

The Yorkshire club have agreed personal terms with the Dutch international forward and are now in talks with PSV Eindhoven about their £30million valuation of the 23-year-old. PSV wants to cash in after being knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers by Rangers.

Quite a few papers running this now, but surely just lazy journalism. Gakpo and Orta had agreed personal terms earlier in the Summer and the club sporting director had more or less agreed a price for the player. Thats why Orta flew into Eindhoven with a jet waiting. That director was sacked and the club chairman said no deal we are not selling. So todays headline is nothing new unless Gakpo has said he has agreed terms (this week) and waiting for the clubs to agree a deal.

The true facts in the summer were that Gakpo was 2nd choice for Man Utd if they couldn't get Antony. We also know there a bunch of top clubs now in the running and PSV are hoping for a bidding war. Leeds will not be able to get involved in a bidding war, so think this is non runner
