It was pathetic and the sort of decision scum get all the time. Just blatant cheating by the officials

There are meetings planned with the LMA to come up with a bunch of gripes against refs and VAR. On top of that the referees panel are meeting to discuss this weekends fiascos. The trouble is the mistakes made this weekend could keep some team in the prem who should have been relegated because they gotnandraw not deserved, millions could be earned extra for a European place which wasnt deserved, some club could be relegated who didnt deserve relegation. The mistakes in this league are very expensive.

the penalty awarded against us took 7 minutes to look at in slow motion from a bunch of different cameras. Not an obvious penalty so no penalty. Summerville penalty not awarded and not even reviewed? Newcastle goal was good, what a joke

Well, based on the information that we had to send Dan James out on loan to bring one in, Gnonto, then we are presumably going to be selling Jack in January. I would say slim to not a cat in hells chance, but I'm an optimist.

My take on VAR is that there should be a time limit. They get, say, 20 secs to review it. If they can't make a decision in that time then the original decision stands. If it was a clear and obvious error they'd see it in 20 secs.

Make it like Cricket, each team gets two calls to use it. If successful they don’t lose it. If a team wants to use it they can play on and signal to the bench, manager or coach presses a button. It can be looked at whilst play continues.

I say cricket as that and tennis are the only two it seems to work in. Rugby league the referee rarely awards a try without checking and that can take forever

I like the cricket method for offsides too. Just add a margin for error - a foot say.. draw the lines. Allow the margin for error as ‘referee’s call’ where you stick with the referees decision. You have the chance to define what is ‘clear and obvious’ error… and show it. These offside decisions are so dependant on the moment they choose to decide when the ball has left the foot… and the variance in where they draw the lines.

When I think at some of ghe penalties we never got even though blatant. Who can remember Poveda not going down because he thought he was going to score same with Bamford, Joffy, Dan James, Summerville and in some cases are not even looked at VAR. Summerville's wasnt even mentioned this weekend because VAR never looked at it. But like the idea of the cricket/tennis rule

You don't do cricket to you Milky? I like the idea of having a right to ask for a review as in cricket, tennis and in NRL where it is termed a captains call and has switched the pressure from refs to the players to challenge dodgy refereeing decisions. I would also like the authorities to remember that it is called VAR and seriously if my assistant kept telling me I was making so many mistakes, they wouldn't be an assistant for much longer, or alternatively I would have to change my ways.

clumsily written first thing in the morning Eric- I was assuming it woukd be used as a challenge as risty says… but was referring to something similar to the lbw ‘umpire’s call’ margin for error in whether the ball was hitting the wickets.

Can’t see him getting a look in, for PL games, anytime soon. Obviously that’s up to Jesse based on performance in training and u21/possible Caraboa matches. You would imagine that Rodrigo, Bamford and Joffy would be in front of him at the moment.
