Good tackle by Gray earlier and looked decent every time I’d seen him. McGinn should’ve saw red with his tackle, poor that a player has to be stretchered off during a friendly.

The look on her face when she saw I was up watching the football was just priceless :emoticon-0102-bigsm

That game needed a strong ref, some of his decisions were shocking. <ok>

Sounds like a good competitive warm up. The lads will get a lot out of that. I've only read reports but sounds like Villa were on top with two penalties and a world class Meslier save.

Not seen the tackle but sounds like McGinn has been a bit naughty leaving one on a kid. Believe he wasn't even going to apologise until Forshaw had a word.

I see we’re keeping up our injury average. Two games played, two crocked

McGinn is a dirty fk end of and should have seen red.

Looks like Aaronson, Meslier, Kristensen, Roca, Adams and Sinisttera are all starters for Wolves. Lets see how tactics and the rest grab a place in the starting line up. Hearing Harrison was full of no end product again, James nothing to write home about? Paddy got an hour and starting to look the part?

just watched some Villa commentary highlights. Great save from the first penalty (never a penalty). Good save from Watkins too. Their keeper also made some good saves and we missed a few… looked like we at least held our own from the highlights. Some feisty challenges from both sides.

Lots of stories this morning re harrison and Newcastle. Seems the great car boot sale of 2022 mightn’t yet be over. It’s all ok though as we’re thankfully following the great Leicester model so we know what we’re doing <ok>

For me, it’s how good are James, Harrison and Summerville. If fairly even in ability to one another it makes sense to sell Harrison. Harrison has never played well for an entire season, if you get 10 quality games out of him in a season you’re lucky

My view on Harrison is the same as yours. He often had one good game in six in previous seasons. Surely he would not jump ship for a few million quid extra.. Shock horror.

And yet Harrison was our top scorer from outfield -10. Raphinha scored only 7 from outfield. And their assists totals were disappointingly poor, with Raphinha on 3, with Harrison on 2.

I for one would be very disappointed if we sold Harrison - especially at the price being mentioned. I'd only approve if he was actually overshadowed by other players in the team, to the point that he was surplus to requirements. That is not the case presently. The newbies are unknown quantities for now, & given our track record with signings, we'd be very, very foolish to assume they're all going to be raging successes. Fingers crossed they are, though, but it's a big assumption.

indeed WJ - his goals/assists are often overlooked. Assists were low last year as we had no striker to ‘assist’. People seem to expect wingers to lay on loads of chances and score every game… or they’re sh*t apparently. It’s a risk to flog him AND Raphinha.. without knowing how the kids/new boys have settled in.

Now if marsch reckons he doesn’t suit the system and we’re better off spending the cash on someone who does? Well that’s his call.

Spot on that and happy birthday btw. There seems to be a tendency with some fans that as soon as our best players are sold or on the way, they’re not that good and their flaws are pointed out. People can bury their heads in the sand all they like but if Harrison goes this is a poor transfer window. All the experienced quality sold off to be replaced by hopefuls. Hope ortas got it right this time

That’s not what Marsch said though. Post match interview he pointed out how highly he regards Harrison and how big a part of his plans that he was

Back in the day when young Archie’s grandad and great uncle were playing someone would have dished out some retribution on McGinn.

Gerard using excuse Archie is too young to be playing at 16. Seem to remember a certain Milner lad that Gerard played with started his career at 16 too. Pity journalists never ask morons like Gerard a tricky question or two

yeh I saw that. What else would he say? ‘jack’s a bit sh*t, can’t play my system”

Perhaps more relevant was what he said afterwards:

"Of course, there's always possibilities that that big transfer offers come in and then you always have to as clubs decide how it fits and what are the best options moving forward.“
