Agreed Jammy but I can’t honestly see us beating anyone so we’re depending on fck ups by others. We are ****e. Sorry if I’m insulting the regulars who attend games
Totally agree. Whatever we had under Bielsa has been destroyed and it will be a long journey to get something approaching that back. Yes it's true that Marcelo may have taken us down but it would have have been with style, grace and integrity. The owners & board of our great club will have been taught a harsh and very expensive lesson when we're relegated.
Still believe Jesse Marsch best game was his first against Leicester. A match we deserved to win, but was unlucky to lose. Things looked good as he hadnt really had time to work with the players but we looked solid and organised. We gradually got worse each game even though we started picking up points. However the points earned were against teams we were supposed to take points off. The longer Marsch has had with the players the more disorganised we’ve been. Dodgy team selections also never help, or do more injuries but red cards killing us too. whatever the outcome we deserve it and I just want it over
Which is why we repeatedly kept warning your good self and others that relegation was a real threat this season. To be honest we probably would have got away with it without Everton beating Scum, Chelsea Scum, Leicester & Newcastle with 10 men.
2 more points today would have really brought fat fwank back into the mire with palace & arsenal to play they would have been been below us tonight and the smirking **** would be looking at his underwear.......
Was speaking to a Palace fan yesterday and apparently Vieira will be playing one or two youngsters against Everton (in other words a weakened team) to give them a taste of the PL because they have nothing to play for as they’re safe. That can’t be right. Seem to remember when Leeds had nothing to play for we went to Watford on the last day, defended as though our lives depended on it, and won. Hull ended up promoted because of Leeds. Doesn’t seem as though there’s much integrity left in the game.
Villa will do the same and then put out their best eleven against City in the title decider. Mentioned this a few months ago but Villa v Burnley was covid cancelled before our game against Villa on 28th Dec. Neither team in Europe or heavily involved in the FA Cup so why so long to rearrange the game ? Stinks as usual.
Can only hope that Gerrard has them fired up for the Burnley game. Top half finish for them with two wins.
Which is why normally Villa would focus on the home game against Burnley for the points. Unfortunately Stevie will decide otherwise.
My home team Northampton lost out on automatic promotion because Bristol Rovers needed to win by 7 goals and did against Scunthorpe Scunthorpe were already down and played something like an 18 year old captain, a 17 year old Keeper who was a first year scholar and a load of youth players, I think the average age of the team was 19 it’s just not right
My biggest fear about Marsch and next season was pointed out by Forza.. If Marsch is as bad as some think and if we survive this season, a bad start next and 10 games in we could sack him and have time. If we are in the championship a 10 game poor start and we’re screwed. At the end of the day Bielsa was replaced by Marsch as we needed to avoid relegation. If Marsch fails and takes us down he should go, as simple as that.
For those worried about sporting integrity in matches involving Palace, Brentford, Villa and Newcastle. Each of those clubs are seperated by the odd point. Villa could jump up 2 places by beating Burnley for example and that nets them another £5m in prize money. I cant see Viera fielding kids when he could see his team fall a couple of places and lose £5m, he will want to ensure his club have moved forward in terms of bettering last season under Woy. Barcodes making more prize money means Howe can spend more this summer as it effects FFFP rules
As this season is now all but done, trying to think of any player who would be player of the year. Its a joke this season and cant think of anyone beyond Dallas. Not because he has been great, but because he gave his all even when he wasnt fit to play. Has there been a sorrier season? How many of our players have made an impact? I can only go for Gelhardt because the penalties he won the assists he created and the goals he scored gave the fans hope. I cant see any other player has done anything. Meslier counters some of his brilliance with bad mistakes, nobody else has been available all season….
