It may be true that nketiah is getting passed by by others, but this mantra about very good players making their first team debuts in their teens is a sweeping generalisation. Although nketiah did actually make his premier league debut as a teenager. Some worldbeaters are regulars at top level in their teens, some early maturers are too. It also depends on the calibre of the club, who is ahead of them in the team and injury levels etc. Too many factors to make generalisations. Look at kp… and how **** he was for the first season he played… for a **** championship team. nketiah isn’t mbappe, just as gelhardt may not turn out to be haaland… he’ll likely do a job for someone though.
Connor Gallagher has been promoted from the England U21 to the full International team and Sam Greenwood has been promoted from the England U20s to replace Gallagher in the 21s. Which means Drameh Cresswell and Joffy make all 4 signings from last season for our U23s are now all England U21 players.
Seems like an attempt at Santa's face, but all I see is Bates. Is it just me that still carries so much hate? please log in to view this image
Rodrigo is on for Spain for the last half an hour. Playing on the right side of attack/midfield (like Pablo used to do for us) and looking quite sharp.
Just been reading a piece by a respected journo who says Leeds will not buy anyone in January because it takes too long for them to get Bielsa fit. He also said no club are going to sell their better players half way through the season…. All makes sense unless: The player is out of contract at the end of the season and will walk on a free. Orta and Bielsa know what and who they would like and if a deal can be done it will get done. There are players earmarked who already play the type of role wanted by Bielsa. Connor Gallagher was a good example of that as he is a box to box player who presses and tackles back all the way to his own box when required. He scores goals and assists. They know who the want and if a deal can be done… This January Spurs, Newcastle, Norwich and Villa will be buying players, maybe not the best players but there will be a lot of movement and a lot of clubs are in a hole financially so will be tempted to sell players at highly inflated prices and these 4 new managers want results….
The problem would be the crazy money they have spent on players like Buendia or the price wanted for Winks or Cantwell and would still hope Chesea pull Billy Gilmour and either sell him or loan him to a proper team
Billy Gilmour has been extraordinary for Scotland, & I'd love it if we could sign him, or a loan to buy deal. Another hidden gem is Rangers' RB Nathan Patterson. Gerrard has only given the lad 23 mins game time this season, apparently, but you'd never guess it when he plays for Scotland. A goal & an assist against Moldova, & still had petrol in the tank at the end. Anyone fancy Cantwell? He's not been getting the game time at Norwich for some reason or other. Most surprising. Not my choice personally, but his record demands recognition, & he ain't getting it presently, unless Smith turns that particular ship around. Ultimately, I'd love to sign Aston Villa's John McGinn. As close as you'll ever get to Kenny Dalglish, with a wand of a left foot. He would be a cracking addition to our midfield, but sadly, too expensive an option. Is it too early to start a Jan trans sticky, btw?
If only we didn’t have Gelhardt coming through I’d take a punt on Kane if it was a loan with purchase option
Lineker or Kane? Back innthe day England had to play better quality sides and poor sides not so much. Since FIFA and EUAFA opened up their comps so they could make more money e now have to play a lot more shyt so more chance of scoring. Lineker had to play in the European Championship when there was just 16 teams and any of them could have won thats why we saw Denmark do it and Turkey did it and think even Greece. European Championships is now tting on for 40 teams, WC the same and they even want to do it every other year. Sure Lineker who I cannot stand by the way would have scored a lot more goals if he was playing against the number of shyt teams as Kane does?
Lineker was always right place right time, a proper poacher and great finisher. I’ve just watched a YouTube clip of his goals for Barcelona, virtually every goal from within the area and a huge amount from within the 6 yard box. Did England have a better midfield for Lineker to feed off? I’d not like to say who was the better and my judgement is going to be clouded for my dislike of Lineker
I'd say Kane is a better all round footballer and Lineker was just born to score goals. Lineker was lightning fast btw. Like Olympic sprinting fast. I'd just take Kane over Lineker but Alan Shearer pisses all over them both and by quite a distance.
