If we get a decent fee for him i think dick turpin will be proud of us at least he had the decency to wear a mask... No 1
i heard that Cibicki was on his way back as Elfsborg couldn't afford the transfer fee asked for by Leeds. I imagined this was just a hiccup and Cibicki would sold elsewhere pretty quick. Then a photo of him in a Leeds top declaring "I'm back".?? Why do I get the feeling we asked for a high fee because the intention is to keep him?
Just holding out for a better price. Danny rose must have a sell on clause. We will soon have over 25 millioncoming in. Might be able to poach some of the best young talent from around the world.
Maybe he’s right though. Bit like last season when sky pundits were lambasted here for suggesting our squad was too small to last the season. They were right. It’s ok you know to question Bielsa, he’s not infallible
Rose has been some money spinner. We got 5m for him in each of last four transfer windows if you’re to believe everything you read ffs
But last the season the small squad did! And if we hadn't had a 45 minute spell where everything that could go wrong did go wrong, where might we be now? (Very likely waiting to get hammered every match of the season for the princely sum of £170m, most of which would go to players & agents). I just don't buy this 'small squad' nonsense. The argument just did not stand up.
When Bamford (on his return from injury) and Casilla were added to make the squad bigger the results actually got worse! So maybe a small, tightly-knit squad is the way to go.
Thats a bit harsh on Bamford, given that he was signed prior to the first game of the season, it could be argued that results got better once he signed, because no one was predicting the results that we got against Stoke and Derby at the start of the season
So which particular aspect of the small squad affected us for a 4 month period, and why was it the exact opposite leading up to Xmas? Same small squad. Also, notably, with the same small squad during that 4 months period, we still managed some fantastic performances. Did someone forget to tell them they were shyte? Your theory is exactly that - a theory. The Jansson disruption theory has as much (or as little) substance as the 'small squad' nonsense. And remember, 12 defeats or not, we were still in a position to redeem ourselves against Derby. And we did - for 135 minutes. Sadly, the aforementioned 45 minutes then followed. I just wonder if you'd still be forcing this 'small squad' argument if we'd gone on to win that tie & the subsequent one. Would you then be hammering the 'we could have got autos with a larger squad' argument? It wouldn't surprise me, I have to say.
It never should have come down to last few minutes v derby, we should have been long promoted by then. AnywY either way, I’m passed the stage of wasting time discussing rads strengths or weaknesses. You have your thoughts, I have mine however unpopular. I will only mention occasionally as I don’t want to piss off those looking forward to a new season
