Anyone asking the question why Germany isn’t a strong national team anymore? Well the Austrian and German leagues are full of some real mirage players and due to Marsch and Orta Leeds Utd signed too many of them and maybe the real reason why Leeds are probably relegated. Aaronson from Salzburg Kristensen from Salzburg Wober from Salzburg Koch from Kaiserslautern Rutter from Hoffenhiem Adams from Leipzig Roca from Bayern Munich Yes Adams at times looks competent and so too does Wober, but just maybe we put all our eggs in a not very good basket
You on an Ell-style fishing expedition Doc, you’ve sung the praises of a few of those guys in the past ? Some of them just aren’t good enough for the PL, I absolutely agree. Real reason for our (likely relegation) are very poor seasons from our French goalkeeper, English centre forward, and our pan-european/Dominican defence. The sides from midtable down in the PL are much of a muchness. The ones who’s strikers have performed and defence have kept the errors down finish midtable. The ones who haven’t get relegated. Swap meslier for Pickford, Everton would already be relegated and we’d be safe. Swap bamford and meslier for: Toney/Raya Mitrovic/Leno And we’d swap places with Brentford and Fulham.
More problems for Graham Smyth at the YEP as Gaby Ruiz calls him out on a fake interview with Orta “As a member of his work staff and 100% Orta’s trusted person I positively know this interview is 100% fake,” Ruiz wrote on Twitter. “Please erase it from the net asap, Victor has not given any interview to anyone recently, I can’t understand how Di Marzio can be also mentioned in this piece.” please log in to view this image
Don't agree on Meslier. He's been a busted flush for last eight games but in my opinion the guys been terrific for past two seasons. Reality he's faced far more shots playing behind our rubbish defence than any other keeper I suspect in the pl. If he was in goals for City it'd be interesting to see what he'd concede. Robles is conceding two and three in every game as would any keeper with us at present. Incidentally Giles rates him very highly and also blames the defence
I picked him as an example of how one or two players under-performing in key positions is all it takes to be midtable or relegated. I'd replace the whole defence as you're probably aware! Mes was great first season back, not so good last, been poor all this season in my view. It won't surprise you that i have stats to back this up that no-one will be interested in. In short he does have a lot of saves to make, but hasn't saved a high proportion of them. I won't bore you with xg against! When he's set he makes great saves which people notice. He has talent and he's very young, which is why bigger clubs are interested in him for the future. He'd be great in their reserves but not what we needed this season. His positioning can be suspect and he regularly pushes saves back into the danger zone instead of away from goal. He's been a problem all season in my view but people have only picked up on it since the Sky commentary butchered him recently. Totally agree having poor defenders in front of him doesn't help confidence... just as having poor keepers doesn't help defensive confidence either. But hey we all see things differently
The one thing that strikes me on the subject of crap players, maybe not the players that’s the problem, maybe the wrong players for the coaches. Lets face it we are chockablock full of internationals - which means better players than Championship quality. Roca wanted by top clubs McKennie wanted by Brighton, Arsenal and Italian clubs Rodrigo wanted by prem clubs and Spanish clubs. Sinisterra wanted at various Summerville wanted in Germany, France, Spain and back in Holland. Harrison wanted by prem clubs and overseas. Adams wanted everywhere Meslier wanted everywhere. Firpo wanted in Spain Gnonto wanted in Italy. Koch wanted in the prem and Germany So there’s 11 of the first team squad who are wanted by other clubs which means they are seen as decent players, which makes me ask the question about the standard of coach and tactics used which makes these players look like non triers, useless, lazy or stupid. Milky quite rightly says I have been championing some of these players this season, but collectively they are shyte
Think it was Fat Fwank the other night saying that Chelsea players haven't been training properly, or at the right intensity to transfer that that to game day. Doesn't take much of a drop off for results to be effected and I'd say we're very similar as far too many times we've faded in games after looking the better team for the opening 20 mins or so. Many on here don't agree but we have good enough players to avoid relegation this season. However they've lost their way, as shown by the inept perfomance against West Ham after yet another bright start. Thanks Jesse for coming in and telling the world (and the players) that they were being over trained. We got away with it last season but not this as we're clearly not at the right levels physically and mentally for PL football.
