It was one of the weirdos on WACCOE who was pretending to be a player's friend, how that's supposed to help anything I don't know. Really pleased for Tom Lees, let's hope Norwich don't come knocking! I've already gone on record a few times as to what I think about Snoddy; did what was best for him personally at a time when he couldn't get any firm guarantees of the situation at Leeds after years of putting up with Bates and seeing the likes of Gradel and Howson sold off around him.
I think alot of them like there egos massaged, but I agree I would stay well away until I had made my money at least! I am surprised more managers dont ban there teams from using it like Grayson did, but I guess you got to keep these bored rich young successful lads entertained some how. After all how else would we know there in Yo sushi/Nandos every night?
I'l send you a message would rather names and stuff was left off the Forum although the info is out there
Morning all 1) Can someone inbox me the twitter info please 2) Sorry didn't see Tom Lee's was covered in the morning thread, I started a new thread, great news for him and no fears about Lees going to Norwich as he isn't our captain!! 3) Yes a little quiet and I believe a mix between everyone's heads being numb with the T/O gossip - Wanting to believe stuff and allowing it to distort common sense and this in turn leading to a few characters coming over a little aggressive and maybe putting others off posting. I have been guilty of it myself in the past, I would like to put mine down to frustrations of what is happening at LUFC rather than believing that was my real character.
Think it can be a great thing if used correctly; gives the fans more of a connection to the players. Of course you do have people like Ferdinand and Barton who use it simply to get their daily fix of attention.
I think it's a shame that our player got exploited by a 'fan'. Very underhand, and really does bring the question of players using Twitter into focus. I'm afraid I don't have any answers, but must go on record to say that I'm really missing Paddy on Twitter. He was an absolute revelation to me, getting down with the fans & even regularly challenging them to play FIFA (or whatever game it was). Fantastic relationships were built there, and sadly due to a little over-exuberant fun, Paddy is no more on Twitter. The tool has such potential, but it really does expose our players & club. Perhaps there is a strong enough case to ban it, but I wonder if perhaps the players should be given a chance, and get a yellow card before they get red carded.
I follow a few of the Leeds lads, but it seems to be primarily the younger players using it reguarly. I like seeing the banter between the likes of Pierce, Pelts and Byram. Miss Kenny being on there as well. I would rather them not be on there and avoid trouble than risk their careers at Leeds coming to a premature end due to some fans trying to catch them out!
Unfortunately Paul Dews already Tweeted about this, making it quite clear who the player was. Don't worry lads. There's a chance I'll have found a pen by tomorrow.
Well done Tom Less - well deserved call up. As for the takeover - cant see it happening now until the summer at least. If this was going to happen it would have happened back in May where funds could have been injected into the coffers and a good crack at promotion would have ensued. As it stands with the window closed there is no reason for a prospective owener to splash out now. Even in Jan if we are too far off the pace then 5 or six players needing another month or so to gel with team may not make an impact so I can this going through next May (if at all) and then hold on to your hats. Either walk the league a la Reading back in the day and Newcastle or we could do a Leicester and spend a fortune to no avail. Anyway I cant stay on here being perky and optomistic all day......work to do ;-)
Morning all First things first, I've not heard any of this twitter stuff so if anyone feels like inboxing me it'd be much appreciated. As for being quiet on the board, I've been away because I have a mental workload on at the minute. The only times I check here threads are usually already very long, and have devolved into two people having a go at each other. I stop reading there because I can't be bothered to wade through it all, and any contribution (unless to the argument) would just get lost in amongst it all. As for players on twitter, I think it's great. It's really valuable to allow direct connections between players and fans which hasn't ever been available before. Yes, it can cause, and has caused problems, but with a bit of common sense and a team policy on topics that are not allowed to be discussed I think it can work. ...don't get me started on Barton though...
