After our standard away defeat under Lambert ( we scored, wahoo! ) we ' entertain ' weird Sheffield Wednesday. Wednesday, a club close to me due to the ex supporting them, going to some games / Wembley etc are at the end of their cycle with a lot of players I would say. Had the same core of the side for four years now! I can see a few parrallels of us under Evans / Wednesday under Chansiri. Plenty early spending, failure to get premier league riches, now what? Spending has been difficult due to their ludicrous wage bill / FFP failure transfer ban etc. Like us last season under Mick, they've had two injury ravaged campaigns. To me, with everyone fit / firing they still have a top 10 side - but that's not the case right now. That said, their improving - 4 wins in 8, 1 defeat.... I think they are the kind of team that's ideal for us to play from here on in though. POTENTIAL summer holiday mode, they won't be going down, they won't be going up. I think we can maybe edge this. 2-1. Bolton v Reading first though........... draw needed.
Think I'll go for a 1-0 win. Hopefully Quaner is fit because he made an impact against Villa, saw more from him than from Keane. I also hope Bart is in but he needs to do better. He was clearly at fault for the first goal. He should've been taking everyone out to clear that free kick, it was headed from inside the six yard box.
Wednesday are not where they would want to be but miles ahead of us. I’d expect them to beat us but in any given game anything can happen. We really need to see a reaction now and not the same tired performances, results and soundbites. Let’s not go out with a whimper.
Get the draw we needed in the Bolton vs reading game. On to Sheffield Wednesday, I think bishop has to start over Chalobah. Personally in defence, I would move Pennington back into the centre and drop Chambers but don’t think there’s any chance of that happening
Match day and everything gets put to one side. That buzz, that excitement in your belly that today is the day for three points and the beginning of the revival #COYB!
Totally agree BigAl. Something is gonna be the death of me sooner or later, and it aint gonna be the Big C! 2-1 Town, and off we go on a run. When, pray, did we last do that. My mind is a blank! Come on Ipswich!
Was it the beginning of last season when we won 1st 5 games & we scored with something like 9 out of our 11 shots?
I was quite optimistic about today until I heard both chambers and Collins are out of the team presumably injured. We needed them today, though I do like the midfield
I agree, I'd prefer us to play a diamond formation in midfield with Sears and Quaner upfront as a 2, then it would be all square pegs in square holes
Very interesting line up, and not one we all expected . We could struggle in defence, not just with Collins and Chambers out, but the young and inexperienced Bree and Kemlock as dull backs. I was confident beforehand, but not now...can see us letting in at least 2. God hope I'm wrong though
I like the 3 in cm. quite an attacking lineup & can definitely see us scoring - can we keep them out at the back?
Well, well, either we know nothing, or injuries rule them out. I for one wont mind Chambo being rested, but both big men out at same time....time will tell. Skusey gotta play a blinder today. If we score 1st, it could just be our lucky day. That's torn it!
