Why don't you take the "Hull View" analogy - as in "Our players never do anything wrong and everything bad happens against us"!!

<applause> for the honesty Terry! Great post - interesting discussion by Danny Murphy and Colin Murray on Talksport (I call it that for that show as I like Colin Murray - even though he's Liverpool) - Murphy said that he'd rather someone spat in his face than elbowed him - as the latter caused him to have 7 stitches and miss 2 months of football (also broken bones from bad challenges) - Spitting is disgusting (at someone - generally on a football field it is required and no problem) but if someone spits at you then how many games are you going to miss?

It's like he's forgotten how to play this season mate, without Vidic he looks like a rabbit in the headlights.

He's not good enough, although last night he looked ok.

Always thought he was a nice enough bloke, keeps his nose clean and his head down, but just not a very reliable centre half.

Maybe, still not sure I agree but understand where he's coming from. I'd be more pissed off and would lash out more if someone spat in my face over an elbow any day.

I crack up when people say they'd rather be lamped or nutted than spat on. It makes me think they've never been lamped or nutted properly I've had my nose spread all over my face before and I've had loose teeth stuck in my forehead as a result of sticking my head in.

I'd take a flemmy gobful of spit any day...

I'd then proceed to lamp or nut the ****er.

Depends on the deliverer for me, spitting is something that would make me flip on the spot, I'd retaliate straight away.

If somebody elbowed me on a footy pitch, I'd probably retaliate in the car park.

A sly elbow is one thing but I'm referring to when people say I'd rather be punched/headbutted than spat on.

Which people seem to come out with every time this comes up. I find it really comical.

I'd rather be spat on for sure, pain-wise it's a no brainer.

In terms of how I'd react, I think I'd show more composure after being punched though. I'm not sure I'd have boundaries if somebody spat in my face.

Yep, and that's why people spit because they're not out to hurt you, they're out to disrespect you, insult you and wind you up.

I'd far sooner be disrespected than be hurt personally. I think anyone who says otherwise has a bit of a screw loose. Easy to brush off a **** acting like a ****. Bit harder to brush off a broken nose.

Nice to see Gutierrez back mate <ok>

Shame he was booked and lost the game so late on .......... must have been a right kick in the bollocks.

    That was Abeid.

A player I rated highly by all accounts, he made a monumental **** up of a back pass gave Krul no chance!

I didn't mean Gutierrez was responsible Terry, just that it must have hit him in the knackers <ok>

Some CBs need their hands holding mate. It's like Wes Brown without O'Shea, very rarely goes well, but together Wes Brown always seems to look a worldclass defender.

I agree mate, the best defenders are always part of a great partnership.

That's why LVG didn't fetch in a centre half in January, there's no point unless we're short on numbers through injury which we weren't. They need time to work together.

Chopping and changing at the back like Van Gaal did because of injuries beginning of the season, no wonder we played so badly.

Still sitting top 4 though terry - regardless of how badly you have played!

Isn;t that how they make a good team - playing poorly but winning?

But playing well and losing equals relegation - we've played **** most of the time and well a few times - won a few where we've played OK and lost a few where we've played OK and drawn when we've played ****!!

By hook or by crook mate, we're top 4 for now. I think most of it can be attributed to David De Gea!

If you're still telling me that after 38 games I'll be more than happy.

Thing is with you mate, Poyet's still in search of Ultimate Football, you only have to look at Stoke to see that's not the only way to play in this league. You need to start winning ugly like them lot. Poyet's got to chuck his own agenda in the bin for the rest of this season now and learn that after two seasons trying to implement his style, he's made very little progress, maybe it's time for him to change his 'philosophy'.
