Have you not read the great man's words from earlier this morn??? I quote, "All is well in the world with Santini this morning and we’re firmly back on track for the RSA!" Who could ask for a better update than this 7 days prior to 'tapes up'.
Santa Anita Park: California race track closes for further study after 21 horse deaths https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/horse-racing/47466366 Dosnt look good...
Had already had Slave To Love in my patent, before I read your post Stick. Have now added added both as rfc
hi fellas! hows things? catterick,3 20: VIA DELLE VOLTE gets the nod,in the hope, she gets back on track, after a slightly disappointing run last time out.but her win first time up,as well as a good second(which is probably even better form)next time,in a better contest, indicate, shes still progressing..big shout.
catterick,3 50: good chance, this will be fought out by the two least exposed in the field,PULL TOGETHER and commis d office.both have shown some ability in their short chase careers so far,but a slight advantage goes to the former, who was only 6th on his chase debut last time out,in november, but the form has worked out exceptionally well, and this looks a good bit easier.also has form on this ground,so good chance, theres pretty more to come..
I had a bet on Santini at 4/1 yesterday because it was on a NRNB basis. I later read that he was out to 5/1 somewhere but I don't know if that was with money back if he didn't run. My thinking was that he would contract in price if given the all clear and if he was pulled out there was nothing lost. The upbeat headline on the Racing Post website isn't as clear cut as it sounds once you actually read the body of the article. It seems that it will be another day before they will be properly happy with him. The Racing Post is bad for slightly misleading headlines such as this one. The other day the headline was that Samcro missed the Stayers race, when in fact he was completely out of the festival. I did wonder when I actually saw him as a positive for the Champion Hurdle after the Racing Post headline came up. Anyway, as long as you get NRNB it is not going to be a stitch up but it would be a blow to earlier ante-post players if he fails to line up.
I thought Eleanor Bob might have a shout in the bumper. She needs to improve a good bit but was green last time, has further to travel now and is on softer ground as well. Venetia Williams is 5 winners and 6 places from 18 runners this past fortnight and Eleanor Bob gets 15 lbs from the favourite.
Dropped out very tamely after being backed in to 3/1. The winner has put experience to very good use.
Mike Cattermole refers to the 888 sport takeover and makes these comments: 'BetBright’s executive chairman was racehorse owner Rich Ricci, a personable man who I have met a few times but don’t know well. I don’t doubt this takeover was good business for him but surely he would know that this is completely the wrong way to treat punters and do business'. Very well said.
Western Australia was weak in the betting and got beat into second place but he'll come on from that. Doubt very much he is Kentucky Derby material though. Barys was backed from 7/1 into 4/1 but never got involved and was quickly beaten off. Archie Watson will need to be thinking about handicaps with him after that feeble effort. Aidan O'Briens other two were nothing special, particularly Albuquerque, who trailed in last. If we take Joey O'Brien's Numerian as having run something like his 89 official rating, then Western Australia has run well below his 110 mark and Van Beethoven well below his 107 rating in 4th. Best case scenario for Western Australia is that tonight's 1st and 3rd have both massively improved over the winter. Interesting to see what the handicapper ranks winner Playa Del Puente after tonight. It won't matter though, as the colt is headed to Hong Kong to continue his career.
Bloody hell. Just watched the Man U v PSG second leg with my son who is a totally dedicated Man U fan. He was on the verge of a heart attack I reckon; and I nearly had it for him. What a performance with so many key players out.
Well he was green with a capital G. Slow away and never really settled before gradually running on towards the finish. Should hopefully be a different proposition next time out
