The Champ mentioned Our Vinnie a couple of day ago, has been a bit weak in the betting though and I have always liked Morning Assembly, put him up the day he won that Grade 1 at a nice price. My only bet today but it does look a pretty decent race.
Unbelievable .. was watching a twork .. looked all over the winner and had to turn away ... couldn't believe she lost after the last .... dooooooooooooohhhh guilty of premature celebrations !!!! but the e/w still sees me up a tiny bit ...
I'm ****ing furious. Not only did Enright push the button too late, he only used the whip once in the run in. Would have gotten up in another stride the way he rode her but surely she definitely would have gotten up had he used the whip another once or twice. Jump at the last didn't help but unquestionably the best horse in the race. The interference didn't help at all but Enright had ample time after that. She's a lovely, lovely chaser though.
A quick second outing in the next at Punchy for Corbally Ghost, after tipping up at the fourth on Monday. I thought he had a shout then, so I'm going for him now on a recovery mission.
Morning Assembly has serious hurdling form in the book. In fact using a line through Inish Island you could argue he would have given At Fishers Cross at the Festival plenty to think about. Some lovely novice chasers popping up already aren't there.
I have not been around much lately but wanted to pop on as I really like the look of one in the next, great price and reasonably confident selection. Kempton 5.10 Monarch Maid 11-2
Evening, Mr Red Clubs in the lucky last at Kempton appears to have dropped to an competitive mark. All his wins have come on all weather surface. Was 8s this morning and now best priced 9/2 so maybe tonight is his night. ATR website reported the retirement of Forpadydeplaster at the age of 11 and 100% sound. What a fine servant he was for connections but always seemed to find 1 too good. Finished runner up in 14 of his 33 outings including 8 times in grade 1s. He did get his day in the sun though when prevailing in the 2009 Arkle. I hope the ol boy has a long a happy retirement.
Owner Andy Weller feels that SSAFA is way too big at 40-1 in the last at Kempton and looking through his form I am inclined to agree.
