Exeter 4.40 Bari Breeze

2nd run after a wind surgery, down in class and will appreciate todays good ground.Handicapper has dropped him 5 lb. The Milton Harris yard is in good form and todays rider Kevin Jones was 2nd on the horse in a maiden hurdle a few runs ago. Nice each way chance in my opinion.

Leicester 1.15 Vive Le Roi

Tony Carroll does well at this track for each way purposes and this veteran drops in grade today. Horse must have a really good chance if only rediscovers a bit of its old form. The Carroll/Bannister combo won last week with a 40/1 chance at Leicester and I think Vive Le Roi will strip fitter today after a comeback run on boxing day under an 5lb conditional. Harry Bannister who knows the horse well is back in the saddle so stronger handling assured. Shrewed yard always dangerous to dismiss at this low level.

A bit of festival interest on an otherwise quiet Wednesday as Dusart steps up to 3 miles in the novices chase at Exeter. His task has been made easier by the withdrawal of main rival Pats Fancy.

I was very interested to see Pats Fancy. I hope they find another race for him soon.

Got to take him on before the race, I thought he was horrible over his fences on debut and this race could be tougher for him. He traded at 4.0 in his return, and if he goes above odds against I will be very happy!

At the risk of an unconventional form of after-timing, and a thoroughly weak excuse of course, have picked the wrong one of two last couple of times, so please bear with me for today's effort. Promise I will not use the same vindication again, and will search for r a different one! :emoticon-0105-wink: So, here goes:

15:40 Exeter - Ambion Hill
(Excellent chance for a really good run as well-treated in this Handicap Chase. Brendon Powell on board for the Colin Tizzard yard. 2/1 best price at time of writing, available in four or five places).

15:50 Leicester - Concrete King
(Form certainly good enough to run well in this Handicap Hurdle to close the day at Leicester. James Best takes the ride for the Neil Mulholland stable. 7/1 best price at time of writing, freely-available).

Just about scraped into the category of "adequate". I thought he was going to do a Fingal Bay at the last 2 fences.
