finishing 2nd to Zarkava hardly an insult, 2008 was the best year I have ever seen by a country mile, Zarkava, Goldikova and Natagora and thats just the french 3yos fillies

Canford Cliffs was a top miler and beat her at the end of her career when he was just peaking as a 3yo, Paco Boy was a good horse and was flattered by a late run, Goldikova had cantered all over the previous years QEII winner Rip Van Winkle in that race

every defeat you mention was when she was a 6yo and well on the downgrade, ignoring her beating Cirrus Des Aigles, which is as equally absurd as your claim she wasnt good enough to win a QEII, since when do we judge horses at their lowest point

you are showing yourself up here Shergar, even I rated you higher than that

I know you done your balls maximum on a slow animal today at 4/7, doesnt mean you should take it out on a mare who actually had top class gears

Well the Makfi or Zarkava races werent when she was 6, but yeah I take your point.

I just don't feel she was anywhere near the top 5 milers of the past 30 years.

If you think she was one of the best milers of the last 30 years, had she run in the QE2 at the first opportunity in 2008, how do you think she'd have got on? I think she'd have been 3rd at best. Could you honestly say she'd have won that race?

I don't really think she beat a lot in her career, the best horse you can come up with that she beat in Europe was Paco Boy, and that was so narrowly too. She just beat her own sex most of the time in Europe and then beat trees over in America and avoided the big end of season mile clashes in Europe.

I'm sorry but I just don't rate her as up with the very best milers of the past 30 years, I think she even struggles when it comes to best milers of the era she raced in.

Look the way I see it is he's only made one mistake there in his first chase in a year and a half. If he gets a clear round in he'll have a close to a stone in hand on his Rsa run. I think he has a serious engine, he just lacks the gears for hurdles. If he gets his jumping right he'll be a hell of a lot better as a chaser.

Can count on one hand the milers I seen with her explosive ability, shes in the Kingman bracket for me, Zarkava wouldnt have got near her at a mile once she had peaked.

So you think she'd of won the 2008 QE2?

I don't even think Kingman would have if I'm totally honest.

Well i managed to get two odds on shots beaten there so remaining bets for the day are:

    7:05 Leicester - Curlew River 15/2
    7:20 Galway - Mydor 11/1/Micras 14/1

Singles and doubles with reverse fc on last two

Funny hearing ole Shergar following his very bullish write up on Ribchester which was basically bomb proof. This follows hot off the heels of Sticks shout on Jack Hobbs in the King George and him being amazed if any older horse finishes in front of that one. Great stuff!:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm
